Help me guys: GTX 1070ti or RTX 2070?

Hi!
Im looking to buy a new GPU. Im from Argentina, so the price are more higher than EEUU/Europe.
I have this two on mind, but i dont know which one to buy.

EVGA GTX 1070TI FTW2 ICX for $582 usd dollars (or $23.300 Argentine pesos in my country) with Free shipping.
OR
Zotac Mini RTX 2070 for $662,5 usd dollars (or $26.500 Argentine pesos in my country) which not include shipping cost.

its almost $100 dollars of diference. So, wich one i should buy?

My CPU is a i7 4790k
and my PSU is a Seasonic M12II 620w

On the past i had a Zotac mini GTX 970. This gpu was hot as hell. On 3DMark or heavy games this GPU allways was at 80 degrees thermal throttling to 975Mhz from the 1100Mhz stock (with fans manually setup to 85%). I sold it today and now i have the money to buy a new GPU. So that is a thing that makes me think if this RTX2070 from zotac is going to have the same thermal problems.

2070 for dlss and resale value the new cards are pretty power efficient so thermals shouldnt be much of an issue

I have a 1070ti...I wouldn't buy one today.
It's a great card...already pushing it hard to play where I like it...don't see it being a great card in another year to 18 months.

I was in the same situation just 2 months ago and I ended up getting a RTX 2070, boy was it the best decision. It maxes all my games out on triple monitors while still keeping above 60FPS and it never exceeds 62*C under load.

I’d definitely recommend one

quite a simple decision really......

If you are now, or plan to soon, do things that will take advantage of the ray tracing, then by all means get the 2070.....

otherwise save some $$ and get the 1070, which for all things that normal users do, is still a great card, and the prices are steadily falling right now also

If you want to save the money, get the 1070Ti. If you are at 1080p the 1070Ti has you covered for a while. I'm not sure I would pay 100 bux more + shipping for 2070 when it's only like 15% faster in most games

Eh, 2070 isn't even that much faster.

It is nearly enough to be an entire card class up. It's the difference between ultra and high, 52 vs 60 fps, more fps for high hz gaming, etc. 16% isnt anything to shake a stick at.

If the budget is there, get the best you can/want to afford.

Zotac are actually pretty good however you bought a mini card, just remember one thing all right you got a powerful chip with a smaller PCB, that heat has to go somewhere, larger cards are able to dissipate the heat a little bit better due to pcb, also another thing temperatures all depend on what your room temperature is and if you have good airflow in your case.

If you find a 1080 less than the 2070 get the 1080

I have this question because with the hyper212x i cant overclock too much my 4790k because it gets toasty.

I would never buy a Mini for a highend GPU. That is a trade off that will cost you more performance than buying a solid 1070ti that can boost freely and not throttle. Also, Zotac doesn't really have stellar quality across the entire range. Lots of little, and bigger, issues.

So: if its top notch 2070 vs top notch 1070ti = for a small price gap justifiable.

If its a shitty/compromise 2070 vs a top notch 1070ti = get the 1070ti at equal price. If the 1070ti is cheaper, its a no brainer.

The perf gap is not big enough for a full 100 eur price increase IMO, but if the 2070 is more expensive while also being a better cooled card then yes, it may be worth doing. Turing and Pascal perform better under good coolers, they clock higher and that is also a performance metric to take into account.

One more important bit of info: TPU tests a 1070ti FE (throttling card) versus an AIB RTX 2070. The gap is a lot smaller than the 16% you see linked above. 8-10% is more accurate.

That's not how this works. But no, I don't think it will have very good resale value 2 years from now, GPUs are on the verge of a pretty massive step forward.

I refuse to believe that 448GBs card is only 10% fatster that 256 GBs card, makes no sense to me.
But yeah with 7nm EUV just around the corner 2070 will cost 199$ new in 2020.
