Im not used to AMD and havent overclocked one in quite a while (2 years ago ? X2 3800+ software oc) basically im aiming for around 2.5ghz from stock 2.1, ram should be able to do it no problem and mbo is pretty welle equipped with voltage control, mulit's etc.

i need to know what i should be setting/aiming for on cpu voltage/multi, htt voltage/multi (AM2+ htt 3 iirc) nb voltage, etc etc

maybe someone with a msi amd board would be better suited to help me tweak the bios, really appreciate your time and await your help :D

EDIT:cpu multi is 10.5 x200 default, htt and oter settings are all on auto

Everything on auto except:
CPU Volt : 1.32
Bus Speed:235mhz
take ram down to 4x
I have my x3 8650 @2702 mhz 24/7 rock solid.
Above this it becomes a problem. It may only be my Gigabyte 780G board but that is where I have stability issues. Let me know how it goes, as I am buying a X3 8450 later this week.

well thanks bucknasty for your sole reply, i think the problem i was having before was comodo firewall, i basically couldnt oc at all without bsod's, have since uninstalled it and the future looks bright.

now however i have gotten the bug once again and am at this minute happily chugging along at 247fsb=2.59Ghz, 1.448 vcore, w ram @ 988mhz (5.5.5.18) 2.1v and htt multi at 8 for htt link of 1976mhz havent changed the htt voltage or northbridge voltage at this point, only thing im slightly worried about is the vcore, is this a little too high for stock cooling ?
