Intel Core i3-2120
  • Clock speed: 3.3 GHz
  • Turbo speed: N/A
  • Number of cores: 2
  • Number of threads: 4
  • Cache: 3MB

Intel Core i5-2300
  • Clock speed: 2.8 GHz
  • Turbo speed: 3.1 GHz
  • Number of cores: 4
  • Number of threads: 4
  • Cache: 6MB

The Core i5-2300 is a better CPU overall, but it also costs $52 more than the Core i3-2120. That would put you $45 over budget. You could make up that cost by stepping down a notch on the video card, like a Sapphire 11202-00-20G Radeon HD 7750 with 1GB DDR5.

Asrock Z68M/USB3
ASRock Z68M/USB3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/... $85, which allows you more to spend in other areas. This is my current board and its rock solid and one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest board thats Z68. Also with AsRock updating the H61 to support Ivy Bridge, im pretty sure this board will get IB support.

Asrock Z68M/USB3

I'll second that: you get more expansion slots, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.0, and solid capacitors everywhere (I've had my fill of bad electrolytic caps lately...). An Asrock Z68M/USB3, Intel Core i3-2120, and Sapphire 11202-00-20G Radeon HD 7750 would only cost $323.
