Well I just got all of my parts in today, the cpu, cpu fan, graphics card, and new mother board. I installed it all blah blah, took about an hour.

Here's my probelm:

I'm not getting any signal on my monitor from my graphics card. I've tried all three dvi ports, still, nothing. The graphics card is running I know because the fan is spinning. Everything else appears to be running as well.

I'm using the same HDD as I had from one of my other computers. I didn't think this would be a problem as I planned to uninstall all the drivers once I got into windows (the other computer was a completely different setup).

I also checked myself to make sure the graphics card was all the way in...Seemed in fine, put good force on it.

Any suggestions please??

On the back of your PSU there is a Red switch, if it is set like at 250 switch it back to like 150, you only can move it back and forth.

not getting any beeps ?. If you can try the Analog port one the LCD if you have one with the analog connector that comes with the Vcard.

You plugged in the power plugs for the v card and the one for the mobo ( either 4pin or 8pin).

Yea, try another slot and test it out. Also try using a different combination of PCIe power cables. If two are on the same rail, it might not be getting enough power to operate. With your PSU I'll be surprised if that's the case, but it's worth a shot.

I tried insterting it and starting the computer in another slot, still no luck...

I doubt it's a PSU problem, I've had a 8800 ultra hooked up this psu with a quad.

Do you have another PC or know anyone that can help you test that card? If it doesn't work on another PC, i would say it's a DOA card, no?

Do you use any adapter or do you plug the LCD cable directly to the card? If you use an adapter, that could be the culprit.

Also: it is possible that the LCD cable is defective and that's why you can't get a signal. Try hooking up the monitor in another PC (yours, if you have an extra one or ask someone else to help you with that).

Hard drive won't be the problem if it isn't showing POST. If it is showing POST and logging onto Windows with no signal, then it's drivers. Even without drivers Windows would be running off of VESA, but with the X2 it might be screwing with it. Try using another video card to test out the motherboard, and maybe update the BIOS if you can.

Didn't see your post about the 8800 Ultra. I guess it's good to rule out the PSU then. Even still I'd try switching them around to see if there's something weird going on just to cover your bases.

No other PCI-E graphics cards (or PCI for that matter).

Then you can scratch "option 3" and, probably, "option 2" as well ...

That just leaves you with "option 1": don't you know anyone in your area that has a PC and that would let you place the card in their PC just to see if it boots? If it boots, the problem lies with your PC, somewhere and, if it doesn't, then the problem is definitely the card, in which case, i would consider RMAing it.

Can't do option 1, anyway I'm going to trying to make sure everything is in good and conneced.

Are you guys sure it's the video card? Ravenas, check your 4/8pin and 24 pin to the motherboard again. Also, if you have a 12V aux molex connector on the board be sure to connect soemthing to it.

PS: I know I make you sound n00bish, but just reminding you to check all bases. :)

EDIT: 4300th post!

Bummer :(

@ times, i take my PC apart (new hardware, cleaning and such) but when i put it back together, it doesn't work :(

I think to myself: WTF is wrong? I'm sure i connected everything properly so why doesn't it work? And i end up taking everything apart again, checking for possible damages and such and finding nothing wrong and, when i finish putting it back together and power it on, it works  :twitch: :wtf:

Obviously, i must have done something wrong with my first attempt @ putting it back together but, for the life of me, i can't figure out what it was ...

Maybe, just maybe, something along these lines has happened to you?

Hmm...I just tried reconnecting everything, still nothing. The Crucial ram I am using has leds, and when the system is starting up, the leds will go crazy...They do this when I'm starting the computer...Everything seems to be running... Just no signal to the monitor.

You need to figure out a way to plug that card in another PC: that's the only way to be sure, IMO.

Maybe a computer store? It doesn't have to install the windows drivers: just boot, right?

Right...This is the oddest problem. It's just weird because the fan is running on the card.
