i am guessing you need to install windows on it. You need a usb memory stick with a installer for win 10 on it, or a dvd disc with installer on and a usb dvd drive. then set bios to boot from either dvd or usb, or try F10 or F12 cant remember which for boot menu and select either boot from usb or dvd drive depending which you are using

Alright I’ll see if I can get one this weekend and try that

Also I tried to boot it up this morning and it wouldn’t do anything for some reason so might have to go through it real quick and just undo my gpu and see if it boots up cuz it wouldn’t do anything except power on but screen did nothing

Does it detect the ssd tho? Adjust the boot sequence to make it boot from ssd only.

With the 1030 connected, turn on the pc and then go to BIOS. Search for "Init Display first" or "video device" or "video/display output", make sure it is set to PEG or PCIE.

What does the boot sequence list say? Does it detect ur ssd?

so at the moment I did the usb drive with the iso file and got it to start the process to install windows 10 but when I go to select my drive it says there is none any idea?

So this is the boot sequence so I take it as no atleast I believe this is it, also never was sure the ssd was good cuz took it from a Inspiron that did have problem only reason y is my ex roommate took my old one so just kinda tested to test my luck but might just buy a new one if you think it needs it

Every time I also leave my gpu plugged in and use the vga it says this but the hdmi for the gpu still doesn’t work I just get my blank tv screen

It does not detect ur ssd mate... Try to connect another hdd/ssd with another cable, just to verify, try another SATA port too.

If nothing works then it is a mobo issue, did u get a new mobo or it is a used one? Optiplex 780 is a 775 machine right? (pretty old by now)

No quick question I’m just on eBay looking at some hard drive for cheap cuz it’s not a built pc just a normal one with some basic upgrades should I get the hard drive that is 320gb with windows 10 installed or just get the 1tb one that doesn’t have it instaled

Yes it is a new board and I’m not sure if it is technically a 775 machine but it is old Ik that all it has is a upgraded gpu pretty much bought from my ex roommate and it works fine for small games and stuff just nothing like rust at super crazy frames or anything like that

Well i am on 1155 3rd gen and i prefer Windows 7, if u got 775 pc then it is 100% recommended to install Win7 cuz of the drivers and overall performance.
Still, the issue u are facing has nothing to do with the OS, but rather ur mobo or ur ssd (or the sata cable) ;)
