What option do I turn off in the BIOS to stop the multiplier on my E6600 from changing? I own a P5B Deluxe. TIA.

Turn off C1E, Speedstep, TM...turn on manual multiplier and set it to your max setting, I believe yours is x9..

The multi's changing are part of the power saving mode, and it'll change voltages and multipliers to lower speed and power consumption when not in use...good for basic PC users..no good for OCers.

NP man, I love my system...other than my MB died...but I don't see much of that happening, and mine had started acting and performing weird.

I mostly have been running stock for about 4 days. I was expecting something to be broken, between all the parts, I just figured I would have to RMA something. My OC experience included me changing the FSB to 400, x7 multiplier, leaving the Vcore at Auto. Bad idea. I open CPU-z and read it was a x9 mutiplier, at 3.6 GHz, with a 1.5+ Vcore. OC noobs shouldn't try anything without reading multiple guides...

Yeah...I started by setting my mem to 533 while at stock speeds. Then upped FSB to 350, stable, then 360, stable and so on..till I hit 480. I of course set all voltages to minimum except for memory at 2.25v and CPU at stock 1.325v. With vDroop it's reading 1.29v...but hey if it's stable at 3.36ghz with that kind of voltage I am certainly not gonna argue!

I wish I had a 6600 to play with..but I'm content with my 6300. Well keep me posted on what you end up with! Or if you have any questions, feel free to ask!
