try $879 on for size with the GTX295, which is cheaper than some other brands at the same store.

i remember paying $850 in 2004 for a AGP 6800 Ultra 256, it goes up and down, for a while we almost matched you US guys dollar for dollar, even then our prices were a good $40-60 more for shipped and in a retail warehouse.

Not sure what you mean. I suspected it would be quite expensive to buy from Australia and ship to overseas, hell buying from the US and shipping to AUS is bad enough. Couldn't imagine the other way around.

I've sent a revised rma, this time with the proper serial number, ug and I took a picture of what it looks like when it crashes:

RMA request accepted, rma # assigned. Now I just have to wait till end of month for my disability cheque to ship the darn thing! But still, yay! Thank you Palit_Guy. Sorry I got upset, but this thing is my baby, and it never really ran right, but when it did, sure was fast!

Also, again, I don't know how to do this, do I need to ship the entire box, or just the little one inside, but inside some kind of packing box ect? Also, the labels are intact, but peeling. Will that be a problem?

Well, I'm still waiting to trust Palit, but I'd assume a used one should be just fine. I really don't hear of many Palits failing, which is why I'm surprised mine did. I have a feeling my replacement will make me very happy. Go for the used one, it should be a good card. Plus if it's used, then it's guaranteed still working! Just watch what you pay for it.

I perhaps have double posted. I try not to as much as possible. You'll notice my post count is much lower than yours despite the fact I've been here 1 1/4 years more than you, even though I'm here pretty much every day. I find unless I'm a mod or staff member, which neither you or I are, the only reason I post in another person's thread is if I can offer useful info or advice. My question was how to send a $500 video card back, as in what is the proper type of packaging needed for them to accept the card for rma. Your response was I double posted! Is that how you built your count? Sorry, but this whole thing really upset me, and I may have boo booed and double posted, but so what? Throw a guy a bone would you?

you will need the original packaging with all the original parts/documents for them to accept an RMA most of the time, although I have sent things back before with a missing manual etc and it was accepted I guess it all depends on the company.

Well, the most I got from the rma acceptance, was that the labels need to be intact on the card, which mine are. The card came in a special box inside the main box, I'm thinking I'll pack it in the little box, then inside a box with popcorn styrofoam. They said only the rma# ect needs to be on the package. Still going to cost me a small fortune to ship to the states. Oh well.

All we need is the card with the serial number and model number stickers still attached. Pack it so that it won't get damaged in shipping but you don't have to use the original box or have any of the stuff it came with.

Thankyou Palit_Guy, I'll see what's the best packing box ect with maybe popcorn styrofoam is at the local post office, the little box it came with I have 2 sheets of foam to wrap around it inside as well, and of course the anti-static bag. Two of the stickers are unpeeling, one has a small piece ripped off it, but all numbers in full show. I've been thinking back on this card since Sept 08 when I got it, and it's always had heat issues. Then occasionally a game would lock up. Then more often. I'm sure the vrm's are toast on this thing. The gpu I think is still okay, it displays fine in 2d, and even for a minute or 2 in any game, then that screen and lockup.

Palit is a USA company, so I don't think that's possible. Still would like to know what the proper packing material is to ship a $500 card though. Sigh.

Well enough that it does not get damaged, then, on top of that, insure it for how much it would cost to replace, in case it DOES get damaged!

Taiwan. And when I sent a card back to EVGA I just paid a few cents at the UPS store for a bit of bubble wrap. Worked fine.

And I'm pretty sure Palit is made in the usa, but maybe I'm wrong.... but then I'm canadian and just want my 280 baby back!

Well, here's a run on the Palit RMA process. Today I have shipped my card via ups, with $500 insurance and tracking to Peru, IL. It cost me $50can. It will take 12 days to reach Palit return center. Let's see how this goes!
Edit: that cost also included a shipping box and popcorn Styrofoam filler.

Forgot to mention, I added on the customs form, that this item is being returned for repair/exchange so no customs tax will be charged to Palit.
