Im planning on getting a 8320 and a sabertooth 990fx. What would be the best ram for this setup. I want to go ahead and get 16gb of ram cause its so cheap right now.

Ill be upgrading from a 955be, gigabyte 890fx-ud5 and some 4 x 2gb 1600 gskill eco sticks that do 7-8-6-21 @1600.

Do those LP samsungs chips play well with amd?

would it be better to get 2x8gb sticks like Crucial Ballistix 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRA... ?

Also I think im gonna upgrade from my 5850, its getting dated now and can see I need a performance boost. Would a 660ti be a justifiable $300 upgrade from that?

I would say go for two sets of the 2x4GB low profile samsungs they clock similar on AMD. (bunch of info on them)

The 8320 has a much better IMC than the 8120.

Other option is something like these

Mine are Samsung based as well. Can't tell without removing the heatsinks if they are HCH9 or HYK0. Both clock very well so I could care less.

As for the 660Ti it can be as fast as two 5850's so it wouldn't be a bad upgrade.

Thanks for the advise, one of my issues is I need low profile cause my Prolimatech Megahalem is such a beast it wont let me use alot of the ram out there. So that samsung looks like the right choice.

So is the sabertooth the best board to get? Newegg has some open box crosshair v's too, is it too risky getting open box stuff? I want to kind a keep my cost as low as possible cause im also thinking of getting the samsung 840 pro 256gb. I dont want to have to upgrade again for another 3 years.

Also are those random sticks you bought or did you buy a few sets and cherry pick some?

The Samsung would be by far the best choice ;)

Just ordered an open box CHVF myself I have gotten several from them in the past (open box mobo's)

Not my sticks random guy out of that thread. Most people regardless of CPU can hit 2000+ out of them easily. Mine hit 2000 11-11-11-28 1.5v with a Xeon X3440 no tweaking just plopped the settings and hit go. If I hadn't torn down the rig I would test them further lol. Maybe when the CHVF shows I will see how they do.
