In both videos provided, for what they're worth, I see nothing obscenely wrong. DX11 overhead + single channel RAM + slow HDD probably equates to some stutter and low minimums and that's about it, I feel like this thread tries to fix a problem that isn't really there per say.

Change your "maximum pre-rendered frames" to 2, the default is 3 I believe for Nvidia cards and the min is 1. 1 is best if you have powerful enough hardware, 3 is good for smoothness but can lead to worse latency, 2 is the sweet-spot.

Indeed there's nothing wrong with his system, as I explained right at the start of the thread. He needs to use some form of vsync, end of story. He won't listen though, instead choosing to chase unicorns and waste everyone's time. This thread should be closed IMO.

Note that the performance of the HDD is irrelevant for fps. The only stutters you'll see there are with level loads where the game doesn't pause. A slower HDD will obviously take longer.

It should be entirely possible to have a playable experience with vsync off. That's what I use anyway and I have no stuttering issues. I say vsync off is preferable to vsync on since the input lag is much better with vsycn off. A little tearing does not bother me.

That's not the argument. The point is that you always get stuttering and tearing with vsync off. How distracting it is depends on various factors. Have a look at my first three posts in this thread if you'd like to know more about it.

But you aren't listeting to me either, I said million times that one game stutters really bad and there's no vsync options so what should I do, stop playing the game, right? (never had to deal with this ever before in this game) With my old gpu I always turned off vsync in every single game and I always had win10. Whatever close the thread

Also since I got this GPU i was having FPS drops in fortnite like every 1-3 min the game would freeze for a tiny amount.

That's a pita when the game doesn't let you control it. It's not the end of the world though, because you can turn vsync on in the NVIDIA driver either globally, or per game, as per the screenshot below. Hope this helps. :) I tend to just use the control panel for every game anyway, but that's just my preference.

I'm pretty sure he owns the store. And I tried the monitor drivers and it didn't help. And like I said i tried it on my TV.

That doesn't make him any more tech savvy .... he either makes more markup on sales of certain products or he just doesn't know any better.

Using a TV doesn't tell me anything ... we don't recommend using TVs for gaming, too many compromises / issues. That being said, updating drivers, firmware and monitor inf files is just something that should be done as an early troubleshooting step, if for nothing else to exclude them from the list of possibilities.

How should I borrow ram?? I mean my friend has DDR4 i have DDR3. I will just try swapping the gpu and if it's fine in his computer I guess I just need an upgrade. (I hope it's just this). As my planing to upgrade next year anyway.

That's like trying to mount a 6 lug wheel on 5 lug rum ... won't mount ... the slot is in different loacation, different number of pins, different voltages etc.

I know that stutter well. Partially game engine, partially your system. Definitely fix your ram latency and it will alleviate it a bit.

I game with gsync on specifically to deal with engine stutters like that; but if that doesn't work for your game windowed mode should help it out. Dual channel ram is a must as well.

For some reason my CPU usage jumps by 30% when I'm moving a window around. And it lags like it's behind my mouse trying to catch up.

a window? as in like an excel window specifically? or an MS oFFICE window with hardware acceleration enabled?

Well, task manager and radeon settings, my CPU usage from 2-10% jumps to 50-60% when I move it around. And feels like it's 1 second behind my mouse

can you check the priority/affinity of that process real quick?

Typically it's set to High with all affinity - you can try tweaking it to see if it helps you in game. Seems like windows 10 is just kind of fat for that system - i5 with a single channel 8gb stick.

My CPU spikes to 20% when i start moving windows around like crazy but thats with 16 threads and quad channel ram :/ - So i can easily imagine it jumping by 30% with 4 threads.

MS Office windows do lag behind my mouse as well - it's just smoother for me because the hardware is beefier.

Change the priority to normal and see if it helps your game at all - you can also put your game into high priority, and it should make the stutters less frequent. Also some suggest turning DWM priority to low, for better full screen latency.

That didn't help, I will just deal with all of this until I upgrade.

Sorry, I thought you had a GTX 1080. Confused you with someone else.

It does happen that sometimes the game doesn't react to vsync and just remains in the off state and that's a bug somewhere.

I've got exactly that problem with UT2004 on W10 now for years and it's annoying as hell. So annoying in fact, that I don't play the game anymore. Thing is, older versions of W10 and/or the driver were fine. Then I fired it up one day and it was broken. :banghead:

You think that's bad? I now have major issues with Civ 6 after updates in windows 10 were it shows still at 60fps but the civ players when they talk with you, are slow and stutter like crazy and then the map has weird anomalies until I zoom in and out on it then it goes away.

Dear W10 users, use W10Privacy and remove the craps you don't like. If you cannot visit or download things from microsoft like vcredist or cannot browse msn.com it's just about firewall entries. If you don't want a headache be careful with what you block.
Then, there is an useless thing in W10 : game bar... (https://www.windowscentral.com/how-disable-and-remove-game-bar-windows-10-creators-update).
Many tweaks can be made in the OS to prevent the use of ressources. I personnaly checked the group policies to disable a lot of crap, then if I reinstall, I just have to copy it as of backup for a fresh install (location : \Windows\System32\GroupPolicy)
Be sure the settings in Power Options are set up as you want (https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2843-change-power-plan-settings-windows-10-a.html).

For OP's first record I tend to think it's something made by the latency between the graphic card and the TV & the 60Hz do not help.
Remove the max fps cap in the drivers.
Try the Dynamic V-sync (if it's still the same label), which will work as an adaptative V-sync, in your drivers (don't know if you can force it over game settings), try to put ingame V-sync ON & OFF and see.

i use this from time to time, I usually use it to figure out why i may get audio issues in some situations but it can help narrow down if a specific device is causing issues.
I used it once to find out that my brothers PC was stuttering during game play because of the WLan adapter. Thanx to the tool we replaced it and fixed the issue.

The thing is, I was having screen tearing before(with this GPU) but now there's no screen tearing at all but there's this stupid stuttering. Anyways I will be getting an SDD since I noticed in some games the textures have a hard time loading. Example I'm having a lot of FPS drops in fortnite.

I think I fixed the problem but not really. So the thing is, all my games were running in FullscreenWindowed for some odd reason, I put it to fullscreen and now it's much better but games like The Forest, ROBLOX stutter for like 1-2s every 10-20 seconds and then it's smooth and again stutter 1-2s and smooth(even with VSYNC, and changing the refresh rate) And when I start the recording, it gets even worse.

Is your monitor Free Sync compatible?
