The Hiper Type M 780W is a great all-round power supply. It offers an exceptionally stable 12V line and is sufficiently quiet to not annoy you during every day PC use. Also it supports SLI or CrossFire with a high efficiency of over 83%. With a price of around $125 it is also cheaper than similar products from bigger brand names.

As good a review as all the others - consistently excellent!

In the intro, it lists "Modular-Power-Cord (European model only). " - does that mean all the peripheral cables are modular or just the power cord?

I have the Hiper 580 Type R modular and love it. The modular plugs on that PSU are the best I've seen (though the extension cables suck). ...I won't consider a PSU unless it's modular.

That looks like it would make a sli/crossfire gamer very happy with that stable 12v

the power cable is made from two components. one that goes into the psu and one that goes into the wall. there are two of the "wall" component with different plugs

Got it, thanks Too many outlet types (for instance I see Germany uses Type C & F, while France C & E): Wiki outlet types: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mains_power_systems

Also, never knew you guys were at 50hz - learn something new everyday. :)

Hi people , i have on order this PSU , for my 478 socket board .

I was expecting to get it today , but it stack on Christmas holiday , so i will have it, this Saturday .

This review , are very good , but made me a bit unhappy about the 24 Pin plug .

In other words i need to chop down the 24 pin with a blade , so to make it feet on my 20 Pins ATX ..

I own too one Hiper 580R for three years, nice PSU too , but it looks that is unable to handle the new Powercolor HD3850 PCS AGP .
The system freeze after 15 secs after power up .
I suspect low 12V rail , the book says 28A max 12v1+12v2
The PSU does not drop the 12V line , but it cannot handle fast enough the peak load.
So i am guessing that this cause other rails to drop volts , and CPU or memory cannot stay operational under this conditions .

The HPU-4M780 , is an amazing monster , i have print the verification certificate 80PLUS of it, the 12v1 + + 12v4 gave a 50A total at full load .

My pack are : P4C800E dlx + P4 3.2G 4x512 OCZ + 6800GT 2xRaptors + 2xHD 2xDVD

I just hope that this monster PSU :D will do the magic .
