I was just wondering if anyone has some info on some hi res performance. There aren't any reviews that I can find.....
I play at 1920*1080 on BF2142/2, FEAR, HL2/Ep1, Prey, Enemy Territory QW.
I'd be interested in any games' info though, as well as benches.

Not many people have these cards yet. Good job on your purchase though.

I wouldn't know how this card perform. But 8800GTS 640mb do nicely on 1920x1200 so the HD2900 1GB should be slightly better.

Check rage3d forums. There are plenty of benchmarks already, compared to a GTX etc ...

i have had my 1gb 2900 for a while now, frikkin awsome card :) :) plz run the call of juarez benchmark and post your scores on the appropriate thead.

but it works very well, with cats 7.7 we now have access to 24x AA using edge detection

i game @ 1920x1200 and for instance, on dark messiah, maxed out im pulling over 80fps, i decided to just enable vsinc, SOLID 60fps, only dipped when the cut scenes ran and even then it was a dip to high 40's/50's!!

only problem is atitool dont work for 1gb 2900's, and thusly we cannot access voltages atm, so on stock volts overclocks are pretty limited, however, you can max out the memory in overdrive and run it at 2300mhz, im getting about 850mhz core on stock volts, tho just upgraded my psu to a much higher amperage on the 12v rail so im hoping that could improve, as apparently my old psu didnt cut the mustard

DOes you PSU have the 8 pin connector, or did you use an adapter? I assume you did something to get overdrive working...
Also, have you tried the AMD clock tool?

i just noticed that the latest version of clockgen has 'ati r600 memory clock pll', might be of some use if you (mandelore) want to try taking the ram even further (idk about 2900's, but overdrive is usually a bit conservative on its max clocks, it only took my x1800xl's to 1100, despite the chips being rated for 1400 which it done quite happily)

on my tagan psu i used a single pin mod to get the overdrive working, my new enermax which i was installing at 2am thismorning, lol, has a built in 8pin pciE2 cable :)

oh, and ive used rivatuner and amdgpu tool for overclocking. rivatuner also supports fan speed changes, tho id not reccomend 100% fan speed muhahaha! damn that was scary loud..

so ive no probs in overclocking limits, just easier to use ccc since without volt changes im stuck within those ranges anyway.

:respect::respect: DOES THE "ATITOOL 0.28 Beta" DANCE :respect::respect:

ohh, and just to say i was speaking with a chap from Dangerden and i may be getting a 2900xt full coverage block early :) fingers crossed he can get it to me, DD support is just awsomeness to the max, major respect to them

Ok here we go:
stock clocks 1920*1080 Loast Coast maxed, as well as 3dmark06 with 3Gz CPU DDR2-833

and idle temps....this card isn't NEARLY as hot as some of the NVidia fanboys liked to joke about! Only 8C hotter than my X1950 Pro. Reasonable to me, considering the speeds it runs...

You know I turned the fan to %100 with ATI Tool just to see how loud it was.....AND WOA BABY it was loud! I don't think it will ever reach %100.....it literally sounded like a hairdryer. It was louder than the SIlverstone FM92 at max (top exhaust case fan)
The memory gets pretty hot on the back of the card. I don't know if the 512Mb models have chips on the back..I guess not.

have you got your core oc'd 350mhz!
Nah, you're looking at my 2d clocks :D This card is clocked at 743/1000 (I think it's 850 for the 512Mb GDDR3 cards) at 3d

Benchmark Scores 3DMark06 - 17,000
Sweet. I haven't bothered to OC it yet. Are you using the ATI Tool latest beta?
I used it in the past. I don't mess with voltage and fan settings, so I don't really need it. I'm currently using AMD GPU Clock Tool.

Also, I don't keep if OC'd 24/7 as it plays all my games just fine at stock.

shit, those temps are low, very nice..

@ Tony - have you got your core oc'd 350mhz!! Thats a nice oc, what sort of 3dmark scores are you getting at that speed?
*115MHz :p
