Hey guys - for those who are wondering if there are still decent 6950 cards out there which can be unlocked here is one.

HIS IceQX Turbo 2GB - stock clocks 840Mhz/1280Mhz
Just acquire bios (save first from GPU-Z) - acquire from RBE and do nothing else but unlock 6950-->6970 shader count. flash the bios with atiwinflash v 2.0.1.13 (.14 does not work)
and then use MSI Afterburner to up the clocks - mine is very stable at 880Mhz/1350Mhz - idle temp went from 49C to 52C but during the Kombustor test (extreme setting max temp was the same 62C before and after overclocking)

Below are the gpu-z and kombustor test result screens

It's pretty much random now. While yours unlocked, someone might go buy the same model and it won't work. There is also a certain percentage of user error when it comes to this. A lot of users tend to fail even if a card is unlockable.

You should submit it to the official list of 6950's unlocked.

Side note: your post is a bit misleading as you put "5670" instead of "6970". Also the "RGB" part, do you mean RBE? Might want to clear it up so noobs won't be confused.

Thanks brother.. I just fixed the typos. The key with this card is not to touch mem and/or gpu clocks, but just unlock the shaders. Btw, I tweaked the fan settings in the Afterburner and card stays nice and cool (47 idle and 64 full load with the range 40%-50% fan speed, which is quiter than my i7 and box fans)

Thanks again...

Before you unlocked it were you able to OC it higher than 880/1375? The shaders actually give a very trivial amount of added performance. You would be better off OC'ing the core and memory much higher if it will on the 1408 BIOS. Trust me.

I unlocked the shaders and then used MSI Afterburner to clock it to (at first 880/1350) and finaly to 880/1375 (1350 was a bad setting anyways) I will run new benchmarks today. but even with 880/1350 my 3dmark went up over 1K and extreme setting Kombustor went from 1860 to 1957... I don't really want to push this card too hard. I am buying one more and maybe use it in the crossfire (or give it to my gf - she has been crying that she has old 4870) and always will have a choice to just use it in crossfire (means no graphic card updates for at least 2 years). I would not mess with clocks in the RBE since this card does not have a double bios switch...

Well, I did final OC on it. You were right, clocks make all the difference. 900/1390 with core voltage at 1.175. Very fast now. I also enabled fast mode via my TurboV EVO on my i7 2600K (clocks go dynamical up to 4.4Ghz with temp never crossing 63C on cpu - 35C idle - 55C avg load). GPU at 99% load stays at max 65C during dirt2 bench and 63C during 3dmark

3dmark vantage went to 24400+

Below are some results. Great card!!! can't wait to test it in the crossfire

OK, so this is final update - what a great card! Even if I was unable to unlock it (I was able, but if I could not) card still still would rock! final clock 940/1420 and I'm sure I could push it further, but I want to keep it around 70c max load (make surre you set the unoficial overclocking in AB to 2 to disable power play - huge difference) see pics below for final settings and benchmarks

i have an ICEQ TURBO 6970 card and it lets me go as high as msiAB's limitation of 1GHZ core at 1.22V

I did not want to push it this hard - I'm sure I could since the highest I got on temps is 73 in furmark (and furmar really stresses the card), but durring game play I never go above 65c (dirt 3 or deus ex) I'm not sure what memory modules this card is using - I'm thinking of going 1.2v and 950/1440 - and see how much in game performance gain I will get, but as it is now I am happy with how a $260 card performs for me.. :) - also - make sure to set unoficial overclocking option to 2 - huge difference since it disables power play.

Update - well, I did 1.2v 960/1440 - temps went no more than 2c and here are new 3dmark vantage AND 6192 SCORE IN 3DMARK 11 - good enough for me
