You can certainly use the He10 in a desktop, that just isn't the intended role of the drive according the the manufacturer, it will still work just fine at the end of the day

The difference is negligible. Once you get above 6 Tb all drives are real close. Even the WD Red that runs at 5400. But if your using it for game I would get a large SSD not a disk drive. A 1Tb SSD would be better choice

The best price point for large disk dries right now is 6 or 8 Tb just get the cheapest
NAS, Desktop drives difference is in the firmware. NAS drive are design to rebuild faster and not sleep. Desktop are designed to sleep, power save and have quick cash. But either will work in place of the other
SAS has a difference interface than SATA.

I just bought 3 - 6Tb drives for $450 That's 18 Tb

But if your going to use this for games buy a SSD

No, platter dives are limited in speed, neither are fast. The Hitachi might be better quality, slightly but I would still buy the cheaper one

Barracuda pro 10TB and he10 are basically the same thing, 10TB helium HDDs. Barracuda Pro is a bit faster and quieter, but you won't see the difference in real world use. Get whichever is cheaper.
