Who thought that MS would port Halo MCC to PC and even to also put it on Steam before they announced it. It's happening slowly but it is happening. Halo games are the Holy Grail for Xbox gamers. Sales are good so far on PC for the first game release of the Halo MCC.

Halo: Reach is doing well on Steam

Now it's up to Sony. Do they want to scoop up the easy money from PC gamers for their exclusives or do they want to walk away and leave the money on the table?

I have a GamePass trial and to this day have never been able to get MCC to work. It locks up at the title screen. I just stopped trying after a while. A bit ironic, since the original MCC for XboxOne also had severe quality issues at launch. I wonder if the version on Steam has the same issues, as I think the MS store has a lot to do with the current problems.

I don't know from personal experience as I haven't played Reach yet but I am not surprised that you are having issues with the MS Store. I have accounts on Steam, GOG, Origin, UPlay, Rockstar, EGS and the MS Store and the MS Store is the worst imo. That is why I was glad that MS is putting the MCC on Steam as well.

Sony has already released some of their PS4 exclusives. I’m referring particularly to the Quantic Dreams games being released to Epic.

I haven’t had any trouble with the Steam version.

Oh man do I miss a bucket full of tokens and a massive arcade full of great games.

We still have some around me but the games seem lame to where they should be at by now.

It is hard to justify now with the amount of gaming ability right in my own house..

Those were third party studios with exclusivity deals with Sony like kojima productions as another example. Horizon is the first game from a Sony first party studio to be ever released on PC

I would say the dam is slowly breaking. Halo, games from Quantic Dream, Rockstar stuff, now this.
After all, it is sweet sweet money, I am sure GTA V PC version made it's budget back more than couple of times... And everyone else understood that they want it as well.

Inb4 Epic Exclusive

Shush, you.

Microsoft is a different story because its a PC company that gains most of its revenue selling software. Halo 1 and 2 were released on PC back in the day in addition to some other Microsoft exclusives such as the original gears of war so the possibility of a Microsoft games studio game coming to PC was likely. Sony is a different story altogether because they are firmly conservative of their gaming eco system as much as Nintendo which have never released any of their first party titles to other platforms, ever. So before this news came to be, you'd talk to anyone about a God of War or an Uncharted possibly coming to PC and their response would be No, but maybe its what @Rahnak has said, the first tree games have pretty much done it for Sony so branching it to PC wouldn't damage PlayStation's relevancy.

What i see Sony is doing now is porting old games to PC gamers to lure them into buying a PS5 to play the sequels

If the next gen delivers 1080p@60 across all games, which I think it will, that'll be a super solid lower cost couch gaming experience.
Totally, with PS5 and Xbox series X being a 4k consoles, there's enough headroom to give the option of a lower resolution, higher frame rate performance modes. As we all know, the performance demand from 1080p to 4K is huge
