that mobo is garbage but that is sweet I may have bought that as a starting point about 2 weeks ago but bought and x2 5000+ black and asus m2n-sli instead of intel only time will tell if I made the right decision

Great for a budget builder. Especially when the price of that is cheaper than the price of JUST the e2180 compared to newegg.

Agreed. For a basic build this is a brilliant price.

Works out at the current exchange rate to be around 40 quid. Thats cheaper than just the processor in the UK FFS.

Just bought this combo deal and I've been trying to find out a way to tweak bus frequency settings through the bios without any luck. Both voltage and fsb are grayed out in the bios.. is this normal? Is overclocking disabled in this mobo or am I missing something? Not hoping to leap to quantum speeds, but trying to get even a little edge.

I'd appreciate any input, seeing as how I'm way, way out of depth here.

Ok, you should see CPU Frequency setting and CPU Frequency in the Frequencies/Voltages Conrtol sub-menu of the bios.

CPU Frequency Setting shows you what the cpu is at currently and CPU Frequency is where you should be "adjusting". Post back with results.

That board is not meant for overclocking. Just plain default stable config.
