We have seen new SSDs with PCIe gen 4. We have seen PCIe based SSDs for while (OCZ Revodrive) and there are a vast amount of companies selling SSDs. I have seen some 4 TB SSDs but are there any upcoming 6 to 10 TB NVME drives. Is it even physically feasible, or do we have to go past QLC to get higher density drives. Games are not getting any smaller.

I know that 4TB is currently the limit for NVME SSDs but is not the layers per cell (at a loss of performance) increasing making it viable for sizes above 4TB?

Right...my 500gb 960 EVO is empty after Windows, Call Of Duty MW and provisioning....seriously
2TB is looking to be the new norm methinks.

Yes, the higher density drives are using QLC or similer technologies that get density by reducing performance.

The M.2 form factor limits how many chips they can pack on a stick (30 mm x 110 mm is maximum). If you need more, you'll have to look at PCI Express cards.

That brings me to my next point would using a 110mm PCB allow for up to 1 more TB of storage vs 80mm? Is the 110mm factor even considered in the consumer space? (I don't remember seeing one)
