How Can I Recover From Formatted HDD?

Hi there, I've given my portable 320GB HDD to my friend & he has formated entire drive for testing other OS, though he never installed it. I had more than 90%-95% of data on it, so I NEED to get all back. Please suggest any solution how do I recover all my data ?

Was it low level formatted or quick formatted? A software solution would be your best choice to try first. Recovery services are expensive.

It was quick format on NTFS - Non Compressed drive. Sure I can't afford such expensive service, any software may be ?

We use a data backup utility called Restorer Pro and that thing can pickup stuff customers delete. Maybe it would help you out.

O&O have a program to unformat hard drives. its relatively expensive however you can find erm, 'free' versions around on the web.

. I've personally used it to recover formatted drives.

Linux (unbuntu) can bring data back from the dead. I dont remember how its done, but it was a method i used once upon a time. i guess you could search "linux and data recovery".

I was like you few days ago. I found a free software (don't know really). Its cool, got back all my Virtual servers and other data worth about 100GB in five minutes. If you want I can email you. PM me your email, I will try to email you. My friend gave it to me, so don't know from where he got it.
