I just built a i7-4970 system and put an Energex TB40 cooler on it.
I found Real Temp and am monitoring the performance.

How close should core temps be?

is 26 29 24 23 a 6 degree diff between the lowest and highest?

The 2nd number is consistantly the high one

Thanks

those look like idle temps and the first 2 cores are the hottest because the others aren't doing anything. Try running something like Prime95 64bit and run 8 threads so each core and virtual core is being used. Your peak temps should all be much closer together.
