I hope your planning to upgrade your monitor. You are wasting GTX480 power on that dinky screen resolution. And the reason you are getting lines is because your FPS is higher then your vertical refresh rate. So in games that you do get these lines enable vsync in the menu.

EDIT: Read that you still get lines with vysnc and the lines are vertical (Vysnc usually gets rid of the horizontal lines). Im not sure what the issue would be, im still a bit confused why you got such a card for such a small monitor.

No OP is not wasting the GTX 480 on a lower resolution like 1366x768 more so in reality he will just get even more performance than when running 1080P etc. Running BF3 on a 720P resolution with GTX 480 on Ultra would net around 60fps min whereas on 1080P he would be looking at allot less performance of around 45fps min.

OP did you try another card to see if it gets rid of the lines which is called "Screen Tearing" ?

Guys my monitor is good i even can get 120Hz in World in Conflict and i tested my GTX 480 and is all good working 101% i have 46c on idle with fan at auto 44% and gaming i get 71c fan at 50% good temps and i play bf3 all maxed out but this Screen Tearing is fucking piss me off ! My brother told me that i must turn on a Adaptive Vsync and triple bufering and it will be fine, so i did that and still have it, i did some aditional search and many guys have it also and they say that this is Drivers 301 causing this prob, and dno wy my Old AMD 5850 had this resolution 1360x1024.60Hz and 1366x768.60Hz but this EVGA GTX480 have no this resolution 1360x1024.60Hz and in my native resolution 1366x768 i have no 60Hz i just have this 59.60Hz ??? way i have this guys ? way is not showing the 1360x1024 and i have 59.60Hz not 60Hz ?

Don't know, but I would

1) Set resolution in windows and nvidia panel to NATIVE, no excuses

2) Set 3D settings in Nvidia panel to Default, messing with settings is nice if you have time to waste and are methodical enough to arrive at a conclusion... Better use default and start gaming! :)

PS: I have been playing BF3 on a GTX470 since release day without problems and without tweaks!

Suerte! ;)

If i remember correctly. Fermi cards like the GTX480 do not support Adaptive Vsync anyways. THat feature came with kepler and Im pretty sure only works on kepler card. And I doubnt your monitor is pulling 120hz. If it did in World in COnflict it would in all other games, if said games support the higher refresh rate. And you are wasting your GPU power on that small screen. Games will look so much better on a bigger screen and still get good performance.

My GTX 560 SE support Adaptive Vsync and so does my friends GTX 570.

I guess if you want to play games on a tiny screen at 1000FPS it doesn't suck, but a monitor should be a next upgrade either way. 19" monitor is too damn small.

19" is alright I game at 22" 1050P and really to tell you the truth the PPI is slightly better on the 19" 1280x1024 monitor and frame rates are better. I use the 22" Samsung monitor just because of it's 2ms refresh rate and better colors but the 19" has slightly better resolution as in it's more crisp "Higher DPI"

Some people enjoy 17/19" monitors. 1366x768 on a 19" probably looks pretty good. Is it a waste to most people well yes myself included however if he likes it so be it. To fix the issue at hand vsync and AA will likely help quite a bit.

Well the old 22" were kind of shitty, but most of the new ones a 1080P along with the 23"

That's a very vague statement LOL. The resolution has nothing to do with the performance and IQ of a monitor. Some cheap ass 1080P monitors and T.V.s look like shit. 24" to 27" 1080p monitors you can really see the pixels because the PPI is not very high end. There are a few parameters that make up a high quality gaming monitor #1 response time #2 PPI #3 contrast ratio #4 color accuracy #5 overall image vibrancy #6 Viewing angle. The resolution has nothing to do with the quality characteristics I outlined above and transcends all resolutions. Not all monitors are created = in fact the vast majority are mainstream trash and now the vast majority is 1080P. A 720P monitor could be a better performing gaming monitor as well it could have better colors and contrast and viewing angles as compared to any other resolution and size monitor and vice verse.

Dude, I know. Why do you think i went from a samsung 24" 16:10 1920 x 1200 monitor to Dell U2412M. Because EVERYONE of those 6 parameters were better on this monitor. And a 24" monitor or 22" at 1920 x 1080/1200 will look better then a 19 inch regardless. New monitors these days have improved a lot. And most monitors these days have LG panels.

Some people enjoy 17/19" monitors. 1366x768 on a 19" probably looks pretty good. Is it a waste to most people well yes myself included however if he likes it so be it. To fix the issue at hand vsync and AA will likely help quite a bit.

Yeah resisted Widescreen for a LONG time. I loved my 20" Samsung 4:3 Now I am eyeballing the 27" IPS''s and hoping I can find one that will fit into that space

haha.

Yeah we have a few "Fastards" over there too who do iRacing Couple with full cockpit rigs. The Playseat is perfect for me. I sprung for the seat slider so iit's easy to get in and out of and it slides nicely under my desk

THIS site is run by one of our Members, I'm sure most of the serious SJ cockpits are in there

Most new monitors are trash almost every monitor in Best Buy, Future Shop, NCIX, Newegg, MicroCenter ETC are all junk. There are really actually just a very few monitors that are really worth it to buy now in days. PPI is higher on a 19" 1280x1024P monitor therefore it is better & crisper than 27" 1920x1080P monitor.

List of some common PPI best to worst. Note a 1080P resolution is at the bottom under 1280x1024 @ 19". Point being resolution is only half the equation just like you would never buy a GPU based just on the amount of Vram never buy a monitor just based on it's resolution buy the monitor based on it's calculated PPI.
