I just can't stand the random freezing ever since Samsung f*ucked up their 960 Pro firmware. (See background here: https://www.techpowerup.com/239265/...update-causes-application-freezes-instability)
So long story short I have been running some pretty heavy workload again today. And the system would go into freeze mode every time the program need to write disk. And no this is not something wrong with the MS Meltdown patch. In the event viewer it clearly showed SSD controller time out and reset every time this happens. It has been a month and Samsung has not fixed this. The only workaround is using default Microsoft NVMe driver, which doesn't work apparently in heavy disk usage scenario.
With that said I am looking into RMA. Thing is I HATE reinstall everything all over again. Are there any good software that can backup my entire system drive to an external source and later restore it back onto the new RMAed drive? Would this be even possible since I am assuming the secure boot or whatever UEFI shit there is nowadays?
Thank you!
