how do I view a satellite signal on my monitor?

What output does your satellite box have? You could use a VGA box, which converts most composite/component/coaxial signals to VGA. Beware, the cheap ones are cheap for a reason. Quality boxes come with a significant pricetag.

It has a bunch of ones that look nothing like VGA/DVI. I can get a pic of the back of it real quick.
