Hi im going to oc my gtx 460 with riva tuner but it say's my forceware version is not supported.

can i still overclock my card if my driver is not suppoerted.?

MSI Afterburner is powered by Riva Tuner. Run it and see if it will OC without having the current drivers.

Yes, use Precision for starters. It is very easy to use in comparison to RivaTuner. RivaTuner is not hard to use but has a lot more features and settings that can be frustrating to a new user. I think Afterburner is very similar if you want to try that one also. Chances are that the next version of RivaTuner will support your current (updated) drivers.

Afterburner is easy and will work with any Nvidia card. It also comes with a stress tester to make sure your OC is good. Just install and run it, move the sliders to what you want make small adjustments then stress test. You should be alright with afterburner or evga Precision they both work with current and past drivers.

If you did not enable it on the options page, leave it alone and you're fine. You should not be able to mess with it if it's not enabled.

i can see u got the 768mb version i got the 1gb version and mine does 800/1000/1600mhz @ 1.000v in MSI Afterburner.

Divide/multiply it by two to get the actual clock

like it say's i just got my clock's up to 870 core 1740 shader and 1055 memory should i go futher into the memory clock speed.?

keep going until its unstable or too hot and then drop a bit and there is your stable oc

Got mine to 890 core on max available volts. Sounds like you got some good memory though.

Stock and came preflashed with the 720 core bios instead of specc'd 675.

Hi i just stress tested my gtx 460 for one hour my max temperature was 77 c i got the gpu to 850 core and 1050 memory.

and everything seem's stable :rockout:

Which application did you use to stress test it? try MSI Kombustor.

Also the temps can be low but it can still be unstable.
