I've recently installed Vista Ultimate x64 (SP2 beta included), and after disabling some startup features and defragmented the hard drive i was able to squize out from my pc a 19 second boot time (from power button till desktop)... NICE

About 30 seconds.Depends on the mobo.Dfi not one for fast boots.My wifes old Asrock Dual sata however 15 seconds.She didnt like the longer boot time with her new Lanparty,TILL
she found how many poker tables she could play at the same time.The 4650 card just flies those cards to the table.

This comp is very quick (well under a minute). My server though, it takes forever (several minutes). My fastest booting machine is a 750 MHz Athlon running Windows 98 SE. It boots in under 15 seconds and shutsdown in under 5 seconds. :eek:

currently my 2x7200.11 barracuda drives net me about a 40 second boot time after tweaks and turning off all uneeded crap. but my g/f just handed me my new g.skill 64gig ssd that posts a stable read speed of 140Mb/s with .02ms access times so we'll see how fast windows boots when i get done reinstalling. i'll post an update for ya.

mine takes about 37 sec, XP pro 64bit, and windows vista 64bit with a stable oc, it will take longer if your oc is unstable.
