I run a 750w Zalman.

It's better to buy a quality PSU that's correctly sized for your needs then to buy the biggest thing on the planet and never use it. If you only need 350w (peak) then get a 400w supply. If you need 500w (peak) then get a 600w. Don't buy a 1200w supply and only use 300w because it's much less efficient doing so.

I agree. That's why I use the [url="http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculator.jsp]PSU Calculator[/url]. Of course, I use the Pro version since it calculates amps as well as watts, then I buy a PSU based on the amperage rating.

Ultra LSP 750(watts) here. I've had it for about almost 2 years now, and it fits my needs well. I will not have any issue upgrading to a larger GPU in the future.

430W bequiet Pure Power running right at its limits. Maybe even a bit past (see specs). Still, it's holding up very well.
I do belive 1kw or 1,2kw are waaay overkill for any system but the most extreme quad-gpu setups. I'd rather get a well-sized quality PSU and spend the money saved on more RAM or a faster-binned CPU.
Might i add - the bequiet is inaudibel even under full load. No need to oversize for silence.
