Just asking, I've been playing arm, but not sure if I need more space

I've got one of those desks, where you can pull a flat surface out, that you can put your keyboard and mouse on

I'm a bad one to ask because I have a spastic arm I must account for that occasionally spases out and randomly tries to slap things/people/animals/thermal paste.

There's a story about that somewhere (my arm, me, and thermal paste). But yes. Don't know because I have nerve damage (from a broken arm earlier in life) in my mouse arm so I give it a wide berth in case it tries to escape again.

I'd just advise you to try it perhaps and see what's comfortable? That not an option?

I said that I've been playing arm, but I am asking what's the recommended amount of space, you should have to play arm

I'll have to give up and pass this one to someone more knowledgeable (and perhaps functional) then.

The higher the DPI, the less your arm will move. That said, I have no problem playing Payday on a tiny mouse pad (probably smaller than this one):

But I run my mouse at high DPI.

In general, I can look at least 90 degrees in every direction via wrist and play in the skin of the forearm. I only actually lift my arm and reposition when doing a 180 degree turn. My numbers here are likely very conservative...

Keep in mind that elbow should be at about 90 degrees to the mouse and your wrist should be more or less flat. Your forearm should also not get pinched by the surface (especially a problem if your chair is too low and the edge of the desk is right angle or has a drip catcher).

I arm aim the entire time and only use my wrist when sniping really tiny spots

Its super easy to figure this out.

Stretch your arm in front of you, but keep a straight back/shoulder. Sit up straight. Make a sweeping movement to your right keeping the arm stretched.

If you don't bump into anything, you're good.

This is another one of your questions that only each individual, including you, can answer for yourself based on your own specific scenario - and loaded with that information, you should be able to use simple common sense to answer it.

How did you break your arm?

Maybe Im missing something regarding your arm versus playing ARM but I don't see how any program or game would be different that any other. You need to move your arms, wrst fingers from one ned of the KB to the other so you can hit all keys. I expect at some point now matter what program or game you play will have to move the mpuse pointer over every inch of your screen. Not really understanding why any program / game would be different than any another.

Either I'm missing something or this is akin to asking if your usual sitting position in your car needs to be any different becuase you will be traveling to [insert place you never been before]

I have half of my arm on the desk and my mouse almost reaches the top. Is this enough? Length wise, I'd say I have about 15 or so inches.
