I have two AM4 machines, but my primary PC has a 500MB M.2 nvme boot drive and a 2TB M.2 nvme drive for games.
I also have several 1TB hard drives with all my movies and back up files that I use with docking stations. So, over 8TB easy.

I have 1 TB NVME SSD rn for OS & games, and... USB 2 TB 2.5" HDD (just because I got one barely new for gift lol) for downloads/installers/media etc. I just can't judge buying new NVME drive until any of these is dead. I sometimes do backups for other external HDDs lol. That's my "storage".

Hmm... That's full of data pretty fast these days... :D
My main system is nearly 6 years old (7700k Kaby Lake), hence why I'm in the process of replacing it. Just waiting for a certain company to finally ship my cpu block for my watercooling loop.

But yes, that drive is getting close to full. The 14TB going in the new system was meant to replace it, but it never quite got full enough for me to hassle w/ copying everything over.

I use more than 8 TB in my fileserver. A lot of PXE booting machines. I do photography and audio recording. A good number of laptops' backups. Big Steam library (thanks, DCS) and if there are mods in a game then a backup of that game install. 500 GB Assetto Corsa with mods. Virtual machines. A 4k upscaled copy of my B5 DVDs. It adds up.

That's so not true and you know it. Plenty of games are 20-50GB and some lower. I still see games coming out around 1GB.

Risk of Rain 2 is below 3GB and launched within the last few years. Besides that PLENTY of games after 98' was below 5GB, even 1GB.

For AAA games.

Currently running 2TB, but plans to upgrade to 4TB. Mix of SSD and spinners for the old stuff.

Cool, I can do that too but that doesn't mean all my games are that size. Such a concept!

Right, so you are arguing with me for no reason then?

I said 8TB for games, that's my option.

1.9TB, 56 games, average of around 35GB/game. I'm debating your clearly wrong statement of games being nearly all 90GB+.

Even with DLC, we're at 40GB/average. Gotta use dat math bro

I am sorry you have had no other wins in life so need this one, I am inferior and you are my superior, you make up a math sum and I am wrong.

True that, but how many are you actually playing right now?
All of them clearly.
Let me guess you want me to use up bandwith installing and uninstalling over and over again, not onlu using up bandwidth but also using the read and writes of the drives.

Don't you think it's better to have only one drive connected.. i'm merging (tomorrow) all my four attached drives to one BIG !..

There are collateral benefits throughout the life of a larger drive. Going from numerous drives with differing capabilities and lifespans to a single (new) fast drive is mentally rewarding if nothing else. There might be something to be said about reducing sounds a number of discs made spinning up as well if HDD were involved.

$/TB is inconstant. This is why reviews on this site cite figures that are an average of current prices from major retailers on date it goes live. Also gifts, rewards, insider deals, etc. exist that can all but eliminate any concerns over cost.

I don't want you to do anything, relax. :)

All I'm saying is that I've currently got 20- something games installed, but I never play more than 2 or 3 at a time.
