OK, I have seen countless threads like this on here, but I cant find any when I search for them. I don't know if G.H. is the best place for this, so If it isn't, mods can feel free to move it to its appropriate spot of course :toast:

Anyway...I've been seriously considering getting a Macbook Pro for video editing, and ease of mobility. Only problem is they are soooo expensive, even the last generation ones used are like $1200 USD. So, I was thinking about going boot camp, and dual booting win 7 and os x, and selling my current rig for some ease on the wallet.

Now here's the question... How much would you pay for my rig presently, 2 months from now, and 3 months from now. I know its almost impossible to predict prices in the hardware world that far in advance, but just a general idea is all I'm looking for. All pieces of hardware could be sold in original boxes, except for the CPU, and HDD which I bought OEM. I'm really looking for a price for the whole thing here though. Even though I necessarily wont sell it as one item.

Thanks for your time guys :)

$600-$800 a broad spectrum but a fair evaluation, take into account how you sell and if you part out

You should try craigslist local. Free advertising, and sometimes I've sold stuff for more $$ than I would have on the forums.

They would probably sell easier if you were to say "Great for gaming e.t.c." as most people on craiglist are not worried about OC e.t.c.

I used to think that too...but after my band recorded in a studio, and seeing work done in Pro Tools on mac, and then doing my own video editing on macs with Final Cut Pro, I really cant stand using windows to edit anymore. It's so much easier and smoother on mac...But for photoshop and stuff, I would definitely boot camp with windows 7.
