Hey guys!

So my friend gave me a serial for Crysis 2 maximum edition. Now I've always wanted to play Crysis 2 (yes I haven't played it) and he played C2 already, so he gave me this one as an advance 3 month bday gift for me

now how do I get it? (kinda clueless on digital distribution..)

Here's where the code claim options are in Steam and Origin.

Click on the highlighted options (top left in the dropdown box on both) and follow the instructions. The game will be added to your library then you'll have to download it and install it.

Not trying to devaluate your friends gift, but if you have $1 to spare, you can buy Crysis 2 + other games here for only $1

About your question, it depends if what what type of key he gave you, Origin or Steam key, because you have to redeem it on those clients, I guess you have to ask him about that one. or try the keys on both programs and see which one works (need an account for both)

He's being given a gift. There's no sense in going to best buy and spending $30 when he's getting it for free. :)

Well also no sense in paying $30 for it at all right NOW either (unless you are a an awesome dude and decide to send that much to charity).

Crysis 2 vs mycrisis.com

I have the Max Edition digital download. However I'm asked to set up a mycrisis.com account -Which does not recognize the bonus content, just the base game and starts you at level 1 multiplayer.
To summarize; mycrisis.com doesn't see what you've registered with Origin (or EA) to get (bonuses). It acts as a independent game registration manager. I don't know how things were when the game released, but in September 2013, the system's broke.
(My proof is that I had the Limited Edition on cd, registered it with Origin, went into the game, was prompted to set up a mycrysis.com account -needed for multiplayer, and started at noob level, no bonus unlocks.
-Oh and the ability now to even redeem bonuses have been removed from mycrisis.com in the last week.
-Oh and if you want to link your Origin account with mycrysis.com you have to buy Crysis 3 just to do so. Of course this will be in hindsight and useless to know, now that you've registered a seperate mycrisis.com account in the first place to see if their bonus content was recognized.)
mycrisis.com broke the franchise

If anyone can tell me how they got their Maximum Edition recognized please tell me, thanks
