How to connect HDMI audio cable to mainboard

It was for a customer at work. He got 5 PCs all with 250GTS. He will connect only one with LCD TV via hdmi. The card work just fine. Just I`m not sure if the line from the audio controler to the HDMI survived. If it is damaged I`m just going to change it with one of the remaining 4.

o.k. very ignorant question here so do not laugh at me.

but what exactly do you accomplish from hooking up the cable from the graphic card to the sound card/mother board? what sound are you getting coming from the graphic card?

i guess i should've googled first. found the answer.

The thing is that ATI cards don`t need cable to be connected from the sound card to the card it self so when LCD is connected via DVI cable from the card you will have VIDEO and AUDIO via one cable. NVIDIA cards don`t have integrated audio so they need audio connection from sound card to them.
There aren`t stupid questions just stupid people who think that they know everything.
