How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

Fresh install 7 64bit installed .99 driver, rebooted install 0.9b patch, after reboot i choose sli boot and computer just restarts when windows booting.

I'm using 2 800gts on my HP Z800 workstation with 5520 chipset,
Just tried 9600GT`s with 0.9B also same thing, system restarts without error.
also had tried older nvidia drivers, and older sli patches no luck!
Please help, or i will trash this junk HP labeled box.

Trying it on a Supermicro X8DTG-QF. Dual 480. Drivers 260.99 on Win 7 Pro 64. SLIPatch keeps stating I need to reboot even after several restarts :

Says :

Windows 7/2008 R2 x64
Kernel 6.1.7600.16617
Hal 6.1.7600.16385

is admin yes, UAC disabled, patch version 0.9 build 1.1

"Your computer is need to reboot"
version 1.01 build 209

it's great you post it. not so long time ago i saw something like this. but i need more info to fix it. now i have no internet at home. actually there is but it's poor. i have at work only.
can you help me to sort it out?

Just update news on my "case" (random bsods)

Last weekend I've reinstalled win7x64 with patch 0.9b + 260.99 drivers.

So far I had not had any bsod, not that I tested it so much, but at least 3 hours of Cod-B.Ops without any issue. It's a good and promising start and I'm happy with it :roll:

I'll keep you informed on its behaviour :cool:.

Hello my name is anne and I am from France

Help me because to me the hack sli does not work on my mere asus card(map) P5E64 WS evolution ( x48 ) and 2 Great graphics boards MSI N285 GTX Load(Mark) OC

Here is what I have make:

Installation of Windows 7 64 bit on recently formated partition(score)
Deactivation of the UAC
Without internet connection (no made update / any installed(settled) software)
Installation of drivers 257 via key usb
Reboot
reboot in mode(fashion) without echec/ Installation of the patch 0.9 OK
Hack sli Windows ( 3 times in succession ) reboot on the boot new

No sli in configuration panel n vidia (both cards(maps) are nevertheless recognized by it, as well as in the administrator of ring roads(peripherals))

Anne have you tried with latest v260.99 forceware nvidia drivers?

Are you using sli bridge to physically connect the 2 cards?

Yes I tried with drivers 185, 197, 257, 258, 260,

I tried with and without bridge(deck) SLI

The problem can he(it) come from a parametre of bios?

Are you booting into sli option, aren't you?

It's been about 2 weeks of gaming (crysis and call of duty - mod. warfare) 460 gtx sli on asus crosshair 4 formula and everything is working well. No issues. Great patch, thank you again.

tell me your system configuration. cpu, motherboard and so on...

BIOS 0802 (the last one / by defaut)

Initiate graphic adapter: Peg /pci
Peg control: auto
peg port force x1: disable
ACPI 2.0 Support disabled
ACPI APIC Support enable

I have just tested both graphics boards MSI GTX285 Superload(Supermark) OC on asus P5Q pro / Windows 7 64 bit and that works, thus the asus P5E64 WS evolution is not compatible with this hack? :banghead:

the sli is not fonctionel :confused:
 
you will need to enable ACPI 2.0 then re-instal windows, then follow the sli hack instructions.

this was one of the problems i ran into many moons back, do this and it will work
