Is there an uninstall option w/ the sli patch pack? I dont want to try again if Im forced to reformat to get it to work w/ the old sli patch :(. Previous version, which I'm running now, for 257.21 does have it and works really well to uninstall. Thanks,

Probably the easier thing to do is to get either Acronis or Ghost and just make a system drive image from a boot cd option from before you do the update. If you zap your system with the update just image the drive back over and try again. If you use RAID at all you may want to use ghost as acronis is linux based and sometimes the RAID drivers will not work.. must load the RAID drivers from 'load driver' option in either program.

Hmm, I've just discovered a peculiar issue which I'm able to reproduce every time! When doing a soft-restart of my system, every other boot the windows will start very slow, the graphic card will lose the signal for a brief time and upon reaching desktop I'll get a APC_Index_Mismatch BSOD! Every other boot! Now if I switch off my pc through shutdown button and power it up again, then it will boot up as usual, no problems whatsoever, every time! What gives?

Windows 7 x32, SLI patch 0.9b, forceware 260.63, Asus P5Q Deluxe, 2x GTX 460 SLI

Do you have latest BIOS? I think it's ACPI. Try to update BIOS. If it'll not work try to reinstall Windows

The BIOS is not the newest, it's 2201 version. I don't want to update it to later vesion (2401, I think) coz it's been modded by Ket from xtremesystems.org. Also I don't want to reinstall windows since I've got lots of software installed and it would be quite the hassle. This issue didn't happen before using the SLI patch though. I'll try to uninstall the 0.9b and see if the issue continues. In worst case I think I can live with it, I'll only switch my PC off and on instead of normal reboot if required. I think it's a fair tradeoff for a working SLI on a non certified motherboard :)

Allright, after doing some testing, here's what I concluded:

No/Uninstalled SLI 0.9b - no problems with booting.

SLI 0.9b with forceware 260.63, SLI disabled in Nvidia Control Panel - no problems with booting.

SLI 0.9b with forceware 260.63, SLI enabled in Nvidia Control Panel - no problems with booting as long as I won't start any 3d software (game).

SLI 0.9b with forceware 260.63, SLI enabled in Nvidia Control Panel, played some 3d games - aformentioned BSOD every second boot.

Now the only thing left to test is whether this happens with 258 driver.
Anyway I don't know if the fault lies with my PC or with the patch, and I don't really care that much ;). As I mentioned in an earlier post, as long as I start Windows from "cold" boot, it will load normally. It's a minor price to pay, buying a SLI certified mobo would cost me much more :). Perhaps this issue will be resolved in a future revision of the patch or after I reinstall the Windows, but for now I can live with it ;). So once again a big Thank You to the whole team, guys your work is priceless!

it's possible to connect one molex to such 6 pin adapter and two molex for the other, so 3 molex for both 6 pins...I've tested and it works, but not for HOURS I think. Just wanna know if his cards are powered enough.

EDIT /// What I tested was ONE molex + ONE 6pin PCIe cable. Never tested 3 molex for one card. Best he could do is connecting one 6 pin cord for EACH card and fill with adapters.

My PSU only has 2x PCIe cables. I was using those two native PCIe cables to one card, and two double-molex to PCIe adapter cables to the other card. Worked fine, but the cable tangle was terrible.

I recently picked up two single PCIe to double PCIe splitters at Microcenter. Now each native PCIe cable is split into two PCIe heads. One cable per card now. Much cleaner install... :)

Give this a go -

- Boot successfully with SLI enabled
- Play game or something 3D
- Rebbot and go to BIOS.
- Load optimized defaults
- reboot and see if you blue screen

If not, play games and repeat without going into BIOS

Let us know how you go.

I managed to get this to work... partially, on my P7P55 LX Mobo & 2xGTX460 rig running Win 7 64

The only combination that works (read: manage to boot into windows) was the 258.96 build 1 mod driver with the 0.8/0.9 patch. Both build 2 and 3 crash as windows boots. Tested with Batman, Mafia 2 and Metro 2033, all seeing great performance boosts (SLI indicator almost full); but the system always crashes when I try to run benchmarks on it - either in Metro 2033 benchmark mode, or using Heaven Benchmark.

Tried to install 260.63 over 0.9, both with and without the forceware mod 1.1 by Arisu... again failed to boot into windows. What gives?

something that may help... my system is really stable right now. going good for 2-3 days straight now.

258.96 drivers dual 470's msi790fx-gd90 win7x64

installed nvidia drivers, reboot

installed forceware build 3, then installed patch .8, reboot

choose boot option sli enabled brought me to system recovery mode, reboot

choose other boot option win 7 NO sli

installed patch .9 without any uninstall, reboot

choose boot option sli enabled

everything works.

Should the order of installation matter?

Still, I'm curious why 258.96 Build 1 mod driver works and Builds 2 and 3 and the subsequent ones don't.

I've tried 0.9 patch with unmodded 258 & 260 drivers - doesn't work, boots into blue screen. 258 B1 mod is an absolute necessity for me.

Weird.

Hy friends,

i have a question, this thread is now over 4000 replies big and i cant find the right reply.

Is now a stable run/play possible with a non sli mainboard?
Many people test different software and mods, but he get some problems.

my dream: (stable run!) sli with my mainboard and nvidia driver 25x.xx, is it possible?

my sys:
Gigabyte X48-DQ6
2x Zotac 8800GT
Win7 64
