Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Its supposed to do that at idle. Put a load on the GPU and then check GPUz with that load running.

You also may want to update your system specs as they do not match...

Hi

Upload a Link to make and model of the motherboard or upload a clear pic of the motherboard [Gigabyte EP45 UD6P?] is not shown on Gigabytes web site.

That's a P45 chipset, right? I don't recognize that MB. It ought to be in PCIe 2.0. Have you checked the BIOS settings? Does it possible require a BIOS update? Is there more than one slot and you maybe have card in wrong slot? That's the most obvious things I can think of right now.

I've a symilar question, I hope you don't mind if I just ask here.

I have my Gigabyte GTX770 4GB plugged into my 16x PCI-E slot yet in the Nvidia Inspector program its says ''16x PCI-E (@8x PCI-E)''. I'm taking a wild guess that my card is running at 8x?

Any ideas how to rectify this?

(Edit: My boards a crappy MSI Z77A-G45 btw)

Should have started a new thread in the nvidia section;;) could request an admin to move it; Select report.jpg in the bottom left hand side of your post and ask

The MSI Z77A-G45 is not so crappy; support for SLi & Crossfire PCIe 3.0 x16

-Check mobo bios is upto date
-Disable onboard vga/Igp
-Edit Check motherboard chip set drivers are up to date
-Ensure the card is in the top pcie slot
-Check you are running latest drivers and or last stable driver
-Place the card under load [run a game in full screen] and monitor pcie bus

nb: next time you are logged in to the forum, select UserCP at the top of the page and fill in system specs hardware; brandnames and OS

Same way I said to check for the OP, put a load on the GPU (windowed) and see if it goes up to 16x...

Again, it is common for the PCIe badwidth to lower when the GPU is not in heavy use.

Hey, thanks for the response.
I didn't want to clutter up the nVidia section for such a small query but I shall in future.

I updated my BIOS there last week due to my Video Card hanging on boot and whilst I done that I installed the latest Intel driver package from Guru3D's website. THe card's in the top slot, although I don't think it matters as all the lanes bar the very bottom one run at 16x on this motherboard as far as I know.

I'll monitor it under stress and see how it reacts. To be honest the cards performing very well, I just noticed this when I opened nVidia Inspector and thought I'd question it incase it was holding the card back.

Thanks again.

Long enough to see that value you questioned switch to 16x. Which is instant.

Hi

done.. but how long for that test?

If you hit the "?" mark in GPU-Z it will run the test immidiatly and give results in bottom left hand side

nb: would be more helpfull for you and for the TPU commiunity if you actually let them know what it said

Note: HP XW8400 is an OEM workstation; they may have a bios that will allow the board to detect the GTX 460; saying that it is designed with Quadro in mind, Maybe check ~ here for a bios update

Regarding my little issue, I tried underclocking my CPU and lowering the voltage to give it max stability and ran that test on GPU-Z. I ran it for 15 minutes in both full-screen and in the windowed mode and nothing changed.

Any ideas?

It didnt? I can clearly see it says PCIE 3.0 in the screenshot versus the 1.1 it showed before...

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, you want it to say 16x... not PCIe, LOL. The GPU is in the top 16x slot right? Are there any other cards in the PCIe 16x slots?

It looks like to me it is saying he's running PCIe 3.0 at 8x, but it's also telling him it's underperforming because it's actually a x16 lane. Am I getting that right?

Yeah I'm the guy with the 16x problem :p

It's in the top slot, all by itself on the board. I'm even using onboard sound at he moment whilst my card is being RMA'd.

Take the card out, clean the contacts, and put it back in.

Yeah it's saying 'PCI-E 3.0x16 @ x8 3.0' when it should be saying 'PCI-E 3.0x16 @ x16 3.0'
