Hi I'm using Questrade IQ edge (trading software) with 2x monitors and its quite a bit laggy as soon as I use charts on the second monitor. I'm trying to figure out what I must do to fix this.

1- my processor is the i7 9700k
2- gpu is RTX 2080 ti

I checked, and its not the RAM usage, CPU doesn't seem all that choked... I'm wondering if it might have to do with the fact that the software isn't all that great when it comes to optimization. This being said:
my i7 DOESN'T have hyper-threading (as far as I remember). Don't know if that would make a difference. Second, my monitors are quite different from another:

One is GSYNC capable (acer x34p) 3440x1440 @100mhz (gsync is enabled)
the other monitor is a 4k monitor 60hz.... The 1st monitor is hooked using a DPI cable and the 4k monitor is hooked with an HDMI 2.0 cable (to support HDR) although I can switch it to DPI if it resolves the issue.

As you can see, I don't know exactly where to look to find the solution to this lag problem. For instance when I DON'T have CHARTS on the second monitor and ONLY use it with many TABS of CHROME (with trading view charts instead) then I don't lag at all... But when I "float" my questrade charts to that second monitor, it starts lagging quite badly :(

If your computer is performing fine otherwise, and only laggy with this one program, don't blame (or try to fix) your computer. At most, just make sure the program, Windows, and perhaps your graphics driver are all current. Beyond that, I recommend you leave everything else alone.

You might try to contact Questrade support but having just looked at it, I don't see much in the say of technical help beyond just using the program. :(

I assume they have some tech support? Contact them. Sounds like a rendering issue.

I did and they say its normal to lag when having MULTIPLE charts opened (multiple windows)

But am I right in assuming that if I had a cpu with HYPERTHREADING, it would help with MULTIPLE windows and MULTIPLE browser TABS opened?

That is entirely dependant on the software.

Reminds me of why splash screens were created - to hide delays! ;)
