Hi Guys,

I really need to make switch for molex, the situation is like this
I have bought NZXT green sleeve LED kit which just looks awesome in my lan boy air but then my blue led case fans are simply disturbing that green glow inside my case, so i wanna put switch for my those led 5 case led fans which are connected to each other buy 5 molex adapter inside one another.

I also have NZXT sentry mix 6 channel Fan controller but unfortunately it has no option to put all fans in off mode.

I have Cooler Matser m850 silent pro PSU.
[s it easy to make switch for molex. damn it this $60 NZXT FAn controller cant even put fans off.

look my pic below.

Get a Male to female molex extension. Cut the wires in the middle and wire in a switch. Use heatshrink and solder so it doesn't short out. Plug one end into power supply and the other into the fan controller. Mount the switch wherever. You can buy switches at your local auto parts store.

Something like this should work just check how much amps all your fans are drawing and pick a switch that can handle the power draw:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Rocker...al_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item27b290b670

Then wire it up with something like this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/15-5cm-Mo...uting_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item3a7ead970d

wired like this:

Heres a good guide to soldering (we have a full guide on the foums, i nicked this page from it)

http://soldering.webng.com/articles/guide_solder/inline.html

Edit: Im pretty sure all fans take power from the yellow 12v line but i could be wrong, if your fans take power from a different line just wire it the same but from which ever line they draw power.

But here in this link four wires are connected to switch which has 4 points.

Killing the +12V will turn the whole fan off all together. You need to either cut out the LED's from the fan or buy new case fans without LEDs

I could be wrong but i think that link is switching both the +12v and +5v at the same time. That switch, i think, is two separate switches built into one.

But as Brandon said this method will turn off the fans completely as well as the LED's. If you just want to turn off the LED's that would be rather more complicated and you would be better either just cutting them off or soldering different colour LED's on, or getting new fans with different colour LED's pre-installed.

No I wont cut the LED, those Antec LAN BOY Air case fans are rare, unique (3 LEDs) and expensive ones.

I am planning to keep three options of lighting with my case

1.Only NZXT green LED sleeve with NZXT sentry mix 6 channel with Green LED ON
2.Only all blue Case fans with my 5" blue LED tube with blue color LED on sentry mix
3.perhaps only Case feet LED ( which I really havenot got here in INDIA.)

(Off title question;- does NZXT sentry mix 6 channel put the connected fans in off state?)NZXT SEN-MIX Controller, Panel - Newegg.com

cut out some small pieces of heatshrink and cover the LEDs with them. They will be permanently off, but you wont have to damage your fans.

I like the lighting! but I bet it can be distracting at night. Your PC looks really nice though  The only solution I have is sell your fans and buy a bunch of colorless fans, my personal favorite fan right now is the Cougar Vortex PWM CFV12HP $15, or something cheaper like an Antec Tri Cools $8... then run maybe two seperate cathode tubes or LED strips with different colors and use the switches on them to turn them on or off to get the colors you want.

I WANT TO PUT MOLEX SWITCH FOR THEM.

A switch to turn fans off completely, or just the LED's within the fans?

If its the fans completely my post earlier will work. If its just the LED's the only way would be to wire some form of switch to the LED's, either one each or run separate power to them. That however would mean damaging the fans. Your best method if you still want the fans to run would be to put heat-shrink over the LED's as mentioned. But i doubt that will stop the light completely.

Michael, what you are not getting is that if you put a switch on the molex it will cut the fan off completely which would mean they would be a waste of space in your PC. The LEDs are ran off the small board that is in the middle of the fan which means you will have to cut the wire or change fans all together. We are not giving you these recommendations for our health but to let you know what we have seen from experience.
