Yeah... I cringed as he put the whole stinkin' tube of the thermal grease on the processor. I was watching and I was saying out loud ... "No, don't do that. Oh man."

I am jealous though, I do a small youtube series on homelab stuff and I have no idea how to make cool video transitions, atleast his actual editing skills are decent. I just splice the fuck up in corel.

I would have placed the CPU in the socket BEFORE setting the board itself into the case. Trying to work things in place correctly while it's down in a hole is just asking for a dropped processor onto the cpu pins while setting it in.
It wasn't a "Bad" job he did, looks nice in fact but that along with a few other things I certainly would have done differently.

How to not build a computer putting everything in the case before breadboarding it then you scratch your head as to why it won't post properly

"And last, but not least, an anti-static bracelet. Which is to protect you, and the parts."

Holy dumbass Batman!

1. That's an orange rubber band bro. It ain't "anti" anything.
2. Humans don't require static protection.
3. How much of that $2000 did you waste on that?

We have YT channel with few zillions subs and disabled comments. It's clear they don't care about your opinion, they just need you watch it. And why anyone care about that? Just unsub and forget, there are so many shit channels telling you how to do something, especialy "build" your PC.

When i open this topic i was expecting something about how to use old PC, don't use PC and instead read paper books or something like that.

Of all of the little things I saw, the one that got me the most was the way he applied thermal paste. I mean, do I really need to say it? And using aftermarket as "extra" because the stock paste isn't enough... ...man. Crossed a wire there. When people say stock paste isn't enough and reccomend aftermarket paste, they mean not to use it lol.

He recommended a swiss army knife... ...what's wrong with a regular phillips and maybe some small diagonal pliers? Why put yourself through that lol...

What does it mean to screw in with confidence? I mean, a girl told me I'm a pretty confident screwer, but what does that really mean? What happens if I don't screw with confidence? Does the screw flop down? Just won't go in? :D

Those pads the PSU sits on are for electrical insulation? You mean to say the enclosure for the PSU is LIVE?! And here I thought they were for vibration. I'll have to remember not to touch the enclosure when I flip the switch on the back. Speaking of which, he better be careful not to touch his case, the PSU is still touching it on the other sides!

Stupid tips aside, most of this stuff is just kinda bad practice. Not the end of the world. Do what you want I guess. I wouldn't do it that way and I would tell others not to, but I guess he's not really doing anything that's gonna hurt anything. If you're really serious about PC building you're gonna know not to do these things. I guess for the casual builder it's inconsequential. But I mean really, they couldn't have somebody with more knowledge and skill do this? At least they could have consulted somebody for a step-by-step, so as to not inadvertently demonstrate bad practices and give bad info to new/casual builders.

EDIT: LMAO I just caught how he had his ram installed... ...ooof.

Also realize.... ....this is their game benchmarking machine.

HEY! i am Swiss ... what's wrong with the Victorinox Cyber Tool ...
8869398315038_celum_130572_560Wx490H.jpg

Yep ... they have one specifically for that purpose ... now, if only i could find where i did put my own ... (and as i am from Wallis ... the big plus of that kind of tool ... is bottle opener and corkscrew ... very important to my kind ... )

edit ...
what the heck? it looks like my old one picture ... o_O (well it's a Xbone 1st gen on a Roccat Alumic turned on the "control" side ... ) also not from that video since there was a 1st and 2nd gen black but no awesome mouse board :ohwell:

well ... my 2nd gen Combat Tech with BT is way better (and i use the speed side of my Alumic)

Tools have its purpose, you are not in the middle of the forest, you may use normal tools. Or may be you want they produce victorinox for surgery?

ahah ... nonsense ... no surgeon would need a bottle opener or a corkscrew while doing their job (drunk surgeon are ... scary.... trust me )... or would i need since i am a Lifeguard ... (well now that i think about ... i don't need a blade either ... tho since i do some small manutention on the jobs place ... the plier and multi screwdriver would surely nicely replace the 30 pces multi kilograms toolbox we have ... thanks to make me notice that )

but the Cyber tool from them is one nice all in one that fit many uses for one tool :p (still the most important is bottle opener and corkscrew, take note! )

HEY! i am Swiss ... what's wrong with the Victorinox Cyber Tool ...
View attachment 106944

Yep ... they have one specifically for that purpose ... now, if only i could find where i did put my own ... (and as i am from Wallis ... the big plus of that kind of tool ... is bottle opener and corckscrew ... very important to my kind ... )

edit ...

what the heck? it looks like my old one picture ... o_O (well it's a Xbone 1st gen on a Roccat Alumic turned on the "control" side ... ) also not from that video since there was a 1st and 2nd gen black but no awesome mouse board :ohwell:

well ... my 2nd gen Combat Tech with BT is way better (and i use the speed side of my Alumic)

I bought that Controller a month ago because i had a Surgery and i was going to stay at home for a month and some friends of mine were going to come to visit me almost every day, that said i needed a second Controller so we could play, my actual Controller and the one that nobody touch is a Xbox One Elite.

;)

"And last, but not least, an anti-static bracelet. Which is to protect you, and the parts."

Holy dumbass Batman!

1. That's an orange rubber band bro. It ain't "anti" anything.
2. Humans don't require static protection.
3. How much of that $2000 did you waste on that?

Jeeeesuuusss...:shadedshu:

hehe ... well the best gamepad ever created was the X360 and the Xbone is adequately his proud successor ...

well i got the Combat Tech versus a normal 1st gen during a weird RMA (CF: show off purchase thread) and i did read some reviews that it's the second best money can buy, the 1st would, obviously be the Elite :toast:

now back to that video ... errrr... 2000$ ... my 1070 is already a fourth of that price ... how did he get these prices ... with a 1080 a 850w psu (which is 75$ higher than my own 750w ) and a M.2 SSD ...

Poor soul
Never been Taught how to neck a bottle
quoting half (since i am not Swedish) Törbjorn sentence : "For the last time, i am WALLISER!" ... we respect our bottle ...

strangely enough never needed one and i always had carpet flooring

I just looked back and one of the screws holding the CPU cooler down is missing. What the hell?
Go watch it again, when he mounts the radiator in the case he uses the long screws designed to go through the fans and runs them all the way down through the radiator! He's lucky he didn't puncture the radiator.
