So I tested and my RAM had an error, but the test took hours to show errors. Now, I really need my RAM soon and the RMA person said that they need to see the errors themselves, is it possible for me to give a specific address min and max to test so the errors will show up fast for example test 5 address xxxxxx1 -> xxxxx5? Or just ask him to skip other tests other than test 5

You should be able to say, "just run this test" if moving inversions with random patterns is what will make it error.

Also, don't you already have several threads open about this over here and over here? Stop making new threads for the same topic, it's not like we're going to give you different answers if you try again. It's not like we're a magic 8 ball.

Some people just dont read old topics so im having a hard time receiving answers for old tests. If my ram errors at test 5 pass 5 is it always going to error at test 5 pass 5?

Why not merge them so the old information, help, and suggestions are still retained? ;)

Who knows... rma.

Get a set of cheap sticks to use while you wait, and sell when done... or get new good sticks and sell what you get back from rma. We all struggle with this when an rma needs to happen.

What was wrong with the psu???? You have errors in memtest bud... seems obvious, no?

It says that failing in test 5 could be due to power surges/voltage

Have you tried raising the DRAM voltage 0.05 or 0.1V?

Im currently on 1.2V the suggested XMP settings of corsair
But try raising it slightly to see if it helps, there is some headroom there, not all ram chips are made equal, it's an easy try to start with.

Edit: SNAP! ^^^

Sooooooooo try raising it and see if helps was his point there. Also consider adding .1v SA and IO. ;)

Ok I'll try that, but I'll have to wait for him to either return me the RAM (because it is perfectly working) or wait for the RMA. I'm honestly currently clueless as to why Im only freezing in game, I'm just RMAing starting from RAM.

I hate circle jerks, I wish members would just tell us what they want sometimes.

but seriously. Try and raise the voltage. if raising the voltage or disabling XMP (which is also something you should try) doesnt work just RMA the ram. You dont even need to buy new ram. Just send it back. No Money? No problem, just tell them and ask that they pay return shipping. then read a book for a week.

Well I am looking for a solution, specifically to the in game freezing (which prompted me to do a memtest hence this thread.) You guys are helping me find a solution, but some people just try to act cool and diss people for being tech noobs

So you've already handed the RAM in? That's just special...
Yeah I handed the RAM, but the RMA person said that he couldn't find the error in 15 passes (just test 5 because my errors came only from test 5 in 12th pass)

At this point, there is nothing we can do but spout off things to try. Without you having the memory to test, it is all sort of pointless right now. Also, when tested by tech, was it on the same gear as you run, if not, it does not flush out incompatibility or need for a voltage increase. To be honest, if you want the issue fixed, you should lug the PC to this guy so he can sort out the issue for you in that environment. Just realized the ram is with Corsair, not a local shop.

No it was not on the same gear. I gave him my PSU though so he can test it together with ram (i suspect either ram or mobo issue). Wouldnt it be better if he tested it in a different gear so that if errors do come out, we can be almost sure it is the ram stick at fault. Unfortunately where I live, the tech guys are not as adept as those in the US. They basically employ people who run everything by the book - that is why I am here in a tech forum looking for help. Believe me, if the tech guys here were as competent, I wouldn't be in a tech forum feeling like an idiot.

I mean the memory test failing was already a pretty clear indication it’s not working on your system
