Well i used to have the same setup as on the left but with an asus M2N-SLI. But i couldn't get the thing to budge past 2.7ghz stable.

By chance i was browsing the bay and spotted this Abit Fatal1ty AN9-32X and thought i'd bid a cheeky tenner on it. By luck i won it for £6!!!!

So its all installed and running well and i managed a bit more of an overclock.

It is rock solid stable but i just want to make sure i'm not running too much voltage through her, currently i have it set to 1.5v, the temp idles at 40-44 and at full load she reached 49-52.

What do you think? I've not posted and benches or anything as im waiting for the postman to deliver me a 9800GT!

I'd say that's pretty damn good, be even better once you get that new video card in.

Should give you hours of happy gaming.

omg, even I never push past 1.45V with my X2. At 1.40V I can get 3Ghz and 1.5V (short bench run, I got 3,189Mhz. Done on an A64 X2 3800+ Toledo. Keep an eye on voltage, its a very touchy thing even though AMD 90nm'rs can take a beating in that department.

He's okay up to 1.5v with these chips, like you said, they can take a beating.

Thanks for the advice, i thought i might be giving her a bit too much.

I'll lower it a bit and see if she stays stable!

None the less, I think I know what your issue was on your old board... some ICS clock chips are crappy and won't budge past 270-275Mhz on the FSB. Some are just set to throttle back at a certain temp, mine hits its temp threshold at 276.0Mhz. The A8V-XE downstairs is what I used for my OC run. I got a gem board, perfect except for the lack of fan connectors. Try adding a small VRAM heatsink to the ICS clockchip and see if it improves OC. Mine, if I take the airfunnel off of it, throttles back to 241Mhz. With the airflow it keeps pretty consistant.

Look again.. CPU-Z is saying 1.580v.. so he has to have it @ 1.6v or more in order for cpu-z to read 1.580v after vdroop...hrmm

Not bad for the 5200 Windsor, though you could probably push it a bit further, I've had my 5600+ Brisbane up to 3335 Mhz on the stock cheap aluminum HSF.

dont beat the guy down just because he is trying to overclock, beyond that for the 5200 Windsor that is Respectable and overall quicker than Brisbane.

I can tell he is messing about eidairman.

What the intel buys need to think about is the cost of there systems compared to my one and also other amd systems!

A £6 motherboard, £50 chip and £20 memory cracking 3ghz aint bad!

I've got the vcore set to 4.250 in the bios and its stable. CPU-Z still reads it as 1.5 volts. Its odd!

Good job! See if you can pull your ram timings down to CL4. Would make a world of difference for your clocks.

I might try and put my X2 back into the A8V-XE and try for 3.3-3.5Ghz... but idk. Don't really need that much power. :ohwell: Considering it can do 3.2Ghz with under 1.5V.... hmm. Might do it over the weekend. ;-)

Hey! I was kidding!

I don't know much about AMD chips but all I know is that they don't overclock GREATLY. 3GHz is good though :toast:

If you had my chip, 3.6GHz easy. I haven't tried pushing mine further yet :rockout:
