How's this drive look?

Hey guys, so i got a client that was having issues with his laptop. I did a fresh install of windows on it and ran HD Tune on it. Here's the results. Would you recommend i suggest that the owner has me put a new hard drive in it? Im about to go run DFT and i'll see what that gives me.

Run Seatools on it, then tell the customer the results. Tell him it's possible the drive could run forever, or it could die tomorrow. Chances are, he'd probably take the new drive.

Run Crystaldiskinfo. It's also a great way to check if the hard drive is in need of replacement. (Also a great way to show customers as well.)

Cool, im running seatools on it right now. Im running the long test on it. Somebody told me that it may be able to fix those bad sectors as well.

Awesome, im 80% complete on the longtest. Is there anything i need to do for it to correct these bad sectors? I've never used seatools so im a noob to it :eek:

It's been a while since I had a bad drive with it, but IIRC it will prompt you if it can fix them.

So here's what a long test of seatool's gave me. Think it's safe to give it back to the customer the way it is and tell him that it could possibly go out in the future but it will work fine right now?

I prefer Crystal Disk Info for SMART info. It's in my opinion the most reliable. Saved me once from disaster...

Oh sorry i forgot the pic

It's late and im tired. Talked to the client though, and i got a free dv9000. I had two that needed to be worked on and one was a victim of the gpu failure. Gonna take this thing apart and try the reflow method and if i can get it working sweet! And if i can't oh well got a spare drive and what not.

That was quite a strange HDtune you posted up, since usually when I've seen drives with bad sectors, those sectors remain bad on the HDD scan, even after reallocation. Since Seatools showed no problems, I'd just tell the customer to make sure that he or she backs up their data, and if any problems arise, to call you.

Yep, thats what i did. So far customer is happy and it's working great
