Greetings, everyone! I hope you are all doing well and remaining safe and healthy during these troubling times.
A friend of mine brought over his HP laptop that had a critical error with Windows 10. System Restore was unable to fix the issue (couldn't initiate).
I attempted to reinstall Windows. During the installation process, deleting of the numerous partitions failed, so I backed out into the command line and ran diskpart. When I listed the volume, they all said RAW. I used my Manjaro flash drive to try gparted, success! All partitions were formatted into one continuous 256 GB space.
To make a long story short, I was able to get Windows 10 installed, created an account, download and install some updates. Then all of a sudden, BSOD. Once again, the NVMe drive partitions went back to RAW. So, I loaded Manjaro again to see if I could correct the problem. This time, the drive did not show up; and its the same for Windows diskpart.
Here's the scary part! Now that drive has died, it seems like the BIOS is gone! There's no HP logo and the HDD light indicator keeps blinking. If I press Windows Key + V it says the CMOS checksum is invalid. CMOS Reset (502)
