This is pretty cool. If I am understanding correctly. this is an "open source" project similar to Alienware's proprietary external GPU housing/connection? I have seen one of those in a Microsoft Store. Best of luck with the project. Excited to see how it works out!

Thanks though overall even with the BIOS-CHIP [No Password] I still don't think it'll even detect the GPU as The Connection is white-listed to only work on certain models. Overall I'll be keeping it till I get a Laptop with a Dock port at the bottom

By Soldering I mean the Dock-30 PIN Extended as *If this works I'd need to make the Dock-Station's Dock-Connector Taller Due to the USB 3.0 Cable. You'll see what I'm talking about soon

What I was referring to, and what silentbogo also meant by "wrong riser", is that your riser does not fit a mPCIe slot. So I still do not understand how you plan to get this working.

If your meaning by the pcie little length at the end then I'm sure we can cut room or if your meaning the actual pci express slot then it'll connect by USB 3.0 cable

What I mean, is this: The slot on the laptop's motherboard is a mPCIe slot. The plug on your adapter, is a PCIe x1 desktop plug. They are not the same physically (they are the same electrically, at least in the signaling part, if not in the power delivery part). How do you plan to plug a desktop PCIe x1 connector into a mPCIe slot when it physically will not fit?

Sorry for the Lateness but coming This Tue/Wed. We will find out *If this works but Probably have to replace the BIOS-Chip *But if that don't even work then I'll just keep it till i can afford my own Laptop with a Bottom Port Connector. Most Previous Dell Laptops have this so Wish-me-Luck

That's more like it. BTW, this is the kind of riser that my customer was modding for his project. It's more expensive, but really good quality.
Looks like an older revision, but it's still good.

Yea hopefully we don't have to replace the BIOS-Chip (Just a new-chip with no Password) but even with that don't the BIOS will Allow a eGPU but we'll see. I'll see if the Laptop boots without the WiFi inserted so but probably will of course

Edit: Just tested and it booted fine so we'll see. Hoping the BIOS has a way to switch through GPU's though

What's this PSU for? Your laptop or your dock?
If you are planning to use it w/ EXP GDC doc - it won't work. It's effectively a 19.5V PSU, and you need strictly 12VDC, or use an 8-pin connector w/ adapter in case of ATX PSU.

That's the issue. We needed to use the 12pin power adapter which we *Also needed to power on the PSU. WITHOUT POWERING on the psu this whole thing wouldn't work

It states 12-24V for some reason, and if you scroll down to compatibility table, it only works with laptops requiring 18.5-20V. It won't work.
From what I've seen, an "original" EXP GDC bundle comes with a Dell Optiplex PSU, like this one:

It can be plugged in directly to an 8-pin connector on the side. 6-pins are 12V and GND, and 2 pins on the right are PSON and SENSE.

A regular 19V power brick will fry your raiser and your GPU (probably).

To second this: The recommended power supply for these eGPU setups is a Dell DA-2 220W power brick like silentbogo linked. The 8-pin input on the GDC Beast (and the BPlus PE4C) is actually keyed exactly to that same pin layout. Note that this 8-pin layout is NOT identical to a usual 8-pin PCIe connector. It also helps that the Dell DA-2 is cheap as chips as there is a million of them out there (I bought two in the past couple of years at 9$ and 10$ on ebay).

Yeah he bought it but it'll be next week as he's busy this week so. The 310 I bought is somewhat bad. It turns on/display but in Windows it shows Green/Black Dots in some places so I'll be using my GTX750ti from my Rig
