I've got a HP Pavilion a6700z lying around in parts , i want to put it together and make it an HTPC for the whole family to watch movies and so ! I also have this http://www.xigmatek.com/product.php?productid=5 cpu cooler since temps tend to get a bit high here in Greece and back in Australia and a MSI HD 6770\ Nvidia GeForce 7950X2 graphic cards , is it possible to mount said cooler on the motherboard? Which of the gpu should i use for HD Movies? Thanx in advance

Yes the board is a AM2+ board and the xiggy will work as long as it fits in the case properly. Also the 6770 would be the better card to use since its more powerful and uses less wattage.

Hmm strangely enough it's got an Intel Core Duo E4600 , but that's still a 775 socket so the cooler should be good , all in all , is it a decent pc for HD movies? Gonna add a 1TB HDD too.

From the HP website it showed a AMD setup. Well a 775 will work as well.

If it's only for movies a cheaper HD6570 will do. Even a 6450 should suffice.
