So I am running into a problem where I cant seem to get my monitor running as it should. A better explanation would be I am running into a problem where I am unable to get steady frames rates using the monitor, even on windows alone everything is laggy. Monitor is the Dell D2417DG. Bought it from a local seller and its a great monitor. I am also using a Benq XL2411Z which is my old 144hz monitor using a DVI cable, still works well. I put them both at 144hz and load into a game and my game is complete and utter trash....low fps, using my mouse in dayz(example) causes the game to dip into the 20s-15 fps. I've reinstalled drivers constantly and gotten the new drivers (which has been driving me insane) but the old seems to have worked just fine. I have a Reference 2060 and have been using 2 monitors ever since. Since that time there was a power outage where I am but everything was fine and booted up as normal except lag...EVERYWHERE. I've read that it could be caused by low-quality displayport cable, which I already ordered (will find out Monday). I am going a little insane and would love to get the previous driver to install but nvidia thinks it's great to never include older drivers on their website. Either way, I am out of ideas and would love to hear what others have run into or if anyone can help solve this issue. Found the Driver! Gonna test it now, please continue to help

SPECS: Ryzen 1700X @ 3.8
DDR4 Teamgroup Nighthawk 3200 16gb
1 Samsung 850 250 1 M.2 Samsung 960 250 1 Seagate 3tb
850 FSP Teamgroup PSU
Reference Nvidia 2060 RTX @ stock

Now I personally feel that the card is able to throw out the power needed for this monitor, I even tried it with one monitor same damn thing. Using DDU I did clean installs, always. Help...please and thank you

UPDATE: IT WAS THE GODDAMN SHITTY NVIDIA DRIVERS (so far)....Im still gonna buy a better cable

Update2: spoke too soon

I had many issues with multi-monitor and the latest Nvidia drivers. Went back to 436.15 and no issues.

Display Port is known to perform better than DVI once you start getting over 75hz and over 22-24in. Dells, in my epxerience perform better when allowed to run at native resolutions and refresh rates. "just long enough" cables also make a small difference.

I had a similar problem and reverted back to 431.36, which run flawlessly.

@-1nf1n1ty-
If you go here;
and in the left column scroll the list down to the 431.36, download and install them.

The other thing, dual 144hz displays can cause issues in certain configurations. Try setting both displays to 120hz to resolve.

Let us know how it goes.

I've heard this too when you dont have matching identical monitors.

It's a weird known problem. Easily solved with the change in refresh-rate. The human eye can barely tell the difference between 120hz and 144hz so the OP is unlikely to notice. Just for the record, I run both sets of my dual displays at 120hz for this reason.

G-Sync enabled? If so, unplug the other screen, as G-Sync doesn't like to run together with other screens that aren't G-Sync.
Or you know, disable G-Sync.

Some interesting suggestions... reverting from one obsolete driver to an even older one.

@-1nf1n1ty- try the most recent driver first (436.30) and check if your issue has been fixed.
If that doesn't help, you should revert to one that worked for you earlier (and ideally: report this issue to Nvidia).

Didn't mean to sound rude. That problem was resolved some time ago.
And issues never come back in drivers? As that's never happened before, right?
It's an easy thing to test.

This is a valid troubleshooting technique. The version of driver referred to is only a 2 months old as of the date of this comment. Let's not make a mountain out of a molehill.

True, but that was years ago and there is no indication that it has happened again.

Guys, thanks a ton for all of this info, please keep it coming. I am going to roll back the drivers further and change the refresh rates on the monitors

update: so far so good

update 2: Bumping? Problem now is how crappy dayz runs. I switch weapons and it drops 30 fps from 80......I was before getting 100+ frames when playing the game no stutters or anything now its just constant. I was playing earlier and the frames dropped to as low as a constant 12 fps. CSGO runs fine

It's not. You should always first check if the more recent driver fixes an issue. That's the whole point of drivers.
The version of driver referred to is only a 2 months old as of the date of this comment. Let's not make a mountain out of a molehill.
Months have no meaning here. Drivers' age is measured in releases. You have an old driver - you're missing on all the fixes implemented since.

In 3D settings did you make sure to set power management mode to "Prefer Maximum Performance"?

Bumping because I fixed the issue by doing a "reset" on windows ten deleting apps but keep my personal files which solved the problem. Thanks, everyone that helped it means a lot. Now I can sleep in peace.

Ah, that would have been next in the list of troubleshooting steps. Didn't want to hit that one first because it's a very involved procedure.
Thanks, everyone that helped it means a lot. Now I can sleep in peace.
Glad you got it sorted out! :toast::peace: Have fun!
