Anybody else playing this? I woke up to an alpha invite over the weekend and have played a few rounds (won nothing yet). I still haven't gotten a good hold on the game and how to be `good` (playing solo doesn't help that I guess), but I think the foundation for the game is awesome and it feels pretty polished for an EA game. I imagine they're trying to do early access "right" (IMO) which is having the core game ready and adding the rest of the content/fixing bugs as they come along instead of throwing a broken shoddy build into people's hands early on.

I got the gist of the game as being sort of a L4D type game in the Crytek engine from the videos, and was excited from that alone (didn't watch/read too much). Playing it, it's much different but in a good way. This video explains the concept well:

Without sounding like a shill, get it! I think the $30 price tag is okay for the game in the state it is. Honestly does not feel as unpolished as you'd expect an EA title to be, but of course does have its issues. They've been updating the game regularly since it was in closed alpha and I think it's only going to get better.

I personally hate the super zoom you get from a weapon when you want to "aim more precisely" by holding the SHIFT button. If you're not using a scope I don't understand why they have what looks to be a 2x or maybe 4x zoom built into using the SHIFT key.

When I first heard about this game and saw some alpha footage, it really peaked my interest. Then I saw the person do some super zoomed in aim while using a shotgun and it instantly turned me away. It really makes me dislike the game..... Egads, I'm rather picky about this, aren't I?

Played a handful of games last night, extracted twice with the bounty (one waiting and killing the players who killed the boss and once killing the spider boss). The game is very fun when it works, unfortunately towards the end of the night we had issues with being able to start the game when joining a player. Restart game worked first time, but couldn't get it to work after and gave up. Apparently that's been happening since the Alpha so hopefully they fix it quickly as that's a pretty big issue IMO.

That being said, the atmosphere of this game is just so fucking good. The binaural audio really helps with that, but the level design, monsters, just everything is so well done and comes together to make the world a truly creepy and super interesting setting. Can't wait for the game to be 'finished' and for more levels (I hope eventually) to be added.

This is free this weekend on steam. I played some last night and it's not bad. I may pick it up while it's on sale. Who else is playing it free this weekend or owns it?

well I just had a game and the guy I was shooting at literally turned around and looked straight at me. I was hidden and fired off one shot from 100m+ no way he could of known I was hiding without an aim bot. its my first game since it came out of beta. has there been people cheating or it safe to play... I know for a fact you can use cheats on this game as I met someone who admitted to using a wallhack and aim bot. but that was back in beta. what say yee?

I did run into some guys that I felt were cheating.. But maybe not because after level 20 they started putting me up against level 96+ guys.. The game is fun for the first 20 levels..

yep, I agree... the game soon loses its shine when after waiting 30minutes to get into a match you get taken out within 10minutes by some guy that can somehow always shoot and score...

Why is this game pushed so hard by some other forums? I sense there's money at stake.

I played on free week end last week for many matches, all i can say is like a battle royale but with jumps scare elements like the zombies and other beasts, that usually attacks you when near and behind.

In this game you have to get your objectives done if you want to level up and this is the biggest difference to me from any H1Z1 PUGB like game. You have to be very aware of others players that are around sneeking and camping ready to kill you.

For now animations are horrible need a lot of work, they are in a good point with the maps and graphics also sounds.

They need to add many many elements new beasts to hunt maps and so on. Artitiscally is very insipired and scary.
