Yes! a black ice quality rad with 9 FPI for ultra low airflow!!!

<<<< I am this excited about this :D

:rockout:

Those who water-cool knows what this means... HWlabs has always made rads for high flow fans, but now they made a thermochill like rad. Here are the specs:

Black Ice® SR1 radiators feature a custom compressed core width utilizing streamlined 45 micron copper fins giving it unparalleled performance from sub-800rpm to 2000rpm fans and flow constricted systems.

Features:
  • Two-pass u-flow configuration utilizing high-flow tubes for up to 40% increase in internal flow rates.
  • Custom compressed core width to maximize airflow and enhance heat exchange.
  • Optimized custom 9 FPI (Fins Per Inch) 45 micron copper maximized conductivity.
  • Yields up to 30% more heat exchange capacity than the Black Ice® GTX in ultra-stealth operation mode up to 2000rpm.
  • Built-in 15mm deep plenum for equalized core air pressure distribution.
  • M4 Threaded Screw Holes for easier mounting and greater adaptability.
  • Standard G 1/4" female threaded fittings.
  • Full high-temper brass structural construction for weight reduction and superior corrosion resistance.
  • High performance compact radiator compatible as an upgrade to the Black Ice® Xtreme, Black Ice® GTX and most 120mm form factor radiators.
  • Uses 100% Non-corrosive water-soluble fluxing process.
  • Fully RoHS compliant.**Expected Q3 2009**
  • Full electrostatic polyurethane painting finish for uniform coating with high temperature curing for increased finish durability.
  • Carbon Black Finish
  • Renowned Black Ice® quality.
  • Patent Pending Design.

i have to ask, would you get better cooling if you used this radiator with moderate or high speed fans.

Yeah absolutely, its been shown that low FPI rads perform much better... even at 2K RPM they perform the same as the old HW labs rads...

Now we get the best of both worlds. Also the hwlabs rads are smaller than feser or XSPC (good for me) which means i can fit one in the front of my case.

This is great! Means thermochill performance with a lower price tag! Putting the 4x120mm version on my wish list!

Are the 1/4" female fittings going to slow down flow?

I was thinking about doing a dedicated loop for my CPU with no smaller than 3/8" or 1/2" tubing and connections for loop.

G 1/4" is the standard no matter what fittings you are using.

It take it that liquid flowing through any radiator shouldn't be so fast as to not give the liquid enough time for the radiator to cool it down.

Thinking about doing liquid cooling. Just thinking out loud. Thanks for the help.
