Try locally/eBay maybe?
You're not going to find a Vega for under $500 on any big box stores, online or local I'm afraid

SNAGGED IT!

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I AM STOKED!

Managed to get a slightly used Red Devil Vega 56 exactly at MSRP ($399)! It won't get here for a few weeks, but I am happy I got one!

They have a higher chance of doing that unlike a MSI/Gigabyte card. You can drop the voltage and pump the clocks up on them. They have even been known to support the WC bios with 1 minor glitch to 1 video out.

If I can't, I can always resell it for more than what I paid, but its not a bad card and even at stock it is better than what I have.

However, I have been on Reddit and apparently a lot of people haven't been successful by flashing the Red Devil 64 BIOS onto a Red Devil 56. Some are even claiming that it is impossible to do...

Would it be possible to do something like the Fury to Fury X where you unlock only a quarter of the shaders? Like 3584 to 3840 instead of the full 4096? I haven't heard anyone doing something like it so idk

as a buyer, you have the power.....patience is your ammunition, i suggest you use it, and you will prevail by getting the item you like, @ the price your willing to pay. Any sense of urgency (other than the "i want it " type), is the weakness you need to avoid. If you have the $$, you'll get the card.

Not true- the Sapphire Nitro+ Vega 64 runs hotter which is true, but in most games it either goes toe-to-toe with the GTX 1080, or it outperforms it. There are very few games which the GTX 1080 actually beats the Nitro+ Vega 64.

If I managed to get this card for $499.99, it would have been a better value, because there is only one GTX 1080 card that is under the $500 mark and that model isn't the greatest. If I went the GTX 1080 route, I would only settle for EVGA's Superclocked model (which is the best), but I haven't seen this model under the $600 price point. Even I manage to get the Vega 64 (Nitro+) under $600, it would still be a better value.
Yes true. The raw framerate might be about the same, but the NVIDIA product is much more refined and that matters. If you like your graphics cards hot, loud and power hungry, rush out and buy one.

I looked just now on Newegg and saw several GTX 1080 cards for about $480, even cheaper than that Vega card. So, you get a better product with better driver features for less money, the NVIDIA card is a no-brainer.

Whatever, it's your money and your choice, I'm just giving you some friendly advice.

EDIT: I've just seen in your specs that you've got a 1070 superclocked. That's not so far off a 1080, so I wouldn't waste your money on buying it. Go for at least a 1080 Ti, or maybe a 2080 if you can stretch to it, for a tangible improvement.

...it will sell for over $600
I HIGHLY doubt that. Nobody's gonna wanna pay more than $500.

Why? Because you can pick up a used reference card now for ~$400. Slap a $60 Morpheus II on it and you've got a card that's as good, or better, than the Nitro+. I paid $520 for mine(a used reference PowerColor Vega 64) a few months ago, and did just that(Morpheus II mod). The only reason you'd want an AIB Vega is for the cooler anyway. They don't offer anything else that's better than a reference card, as far as components. The higher clocks and power limits can be applied with the SoftPowerPlay mod.

Anyway, good luck with your Red Devil 56. That's a damn good price for one. Too bad about the BIOS situation though. One more reason to just buy a reference card and replace the cooler.

I wanted to get a FreeSync monitor because its much cheaper than going G-Sync, yet there are STILL Vega shortages.

From the Tom's Hardware review of the Vega 64 Sapphire Nitro+, it was either in a 1% margin of the GTX 1080 FE, or surpassed it (in a vast majority of tests it outperformed the 1080). I think there was maybe one game where the GTX 1080 outperformed the Vega 64. In all other tests the Vega 64 and the Vega 56 (Nitro+ and Red Dragon versions only) they both smashed every version of the GTX 1070ti.

The problem here is availability, price and power draw- if the Vegas were at MSRP I wouldn't mind the power draw, but they are grossly inflated.

I can get a used GTX 1070ti FTW2 for $365 and sell my current GTX for $325... seems like a decent solution. However, if I find a Vega 56 in the low $400s then that would totally be a viable option.
Honestly Vega is more of an old school card, if you spend a bit of time you can get wuite a lot more out of it via tuning and with chill and freesync most games get no where near a high wattage ,for me at 1670@965 mem i typically use 180watts gaming

He actually got it for a decent price if it OC's well.

Im shocked they haven't fallen back to MSRP but when the HBM2 on them costs $120-150 alone to produce.. its hard to go much lower than that.

Good luck with the card. :)

I thought they just got new mods!! Im sure the guys replying late, read the thread earlier. But not the part where he had gotten one. Seen a used 1080 at Guru of 3D for $200 so prices are all over the place.....
Bottom line is enjoy the new card and post some photos for some hardware porn!!!!

Generally you can flash the red devil but please be mindful and DO NOT FLASH THE OC BIOS.

Theres a 3 position bios switch.. Here look,

- Silent mode with Mute Fan technology ensures quiet operation.
- Std. mode pursues balanced gaming experience, low temperature with good OC capability
- OC mode for gamers to push the limit of Red Devil

Be sure to flash the Silent mode bios and none of the others... and please like always back up all your Bios's and name them to not get them mixed up just in case ;)

OverDriveNtool is what most guys use for your specific card, so give it a try and if Wattman wont do it for you... but on the other hand wattman has been really stable for some time now.

Good luck and enjoy the better visuals with Vega :toast:

oh yay! lets spend $500 on a used GPU with no warranty that was likely abused by a crypto currency miner? what could possibly go wrong?
Please. You miss out on a perfectly good card for a killer price. That's still under warranty. That's what could go wrong.

no they are not. every board partner requires that you show proof of purchase when RMAing the card, something you obviously will not have. i know that because i had to RMA with everyone of them (except PNY, i think) at some point. and if the card is registered already, the proof of purchase won't do anything anyway. only EVGA allows transferring ownership, but only one time and only if the original owner registered the card in the first 30 days of ownership while providing proof of purchase. on top of that, the original owner has to transfer ownership of the card via EVGA's website specifically to you. they have to provide your name, phones, email and address.

now i'm curious, what's your plan for RMAing in case of failure? buy EVGA and pray the seller doesn't lie to you? or committing fraud by forging an Amazon or newegg invoice and possibly facing up to 5 years in prison?
