I ran Unigine and 3dmark, there were no artifacts. I ran Furmark for 5 minutes, no artifacts either, but I had some weird purple squares for 5 seconds playing dota 2. Is it possible to get those kinds of artifacts due to a bad hdd? For example, I cannot play games on high settings because they crash to desktop because of the hdd.

You can 1st do hdd check for bad sectors, open cmd in admin mode(Press winlogo type cmd and while pressing shift+ctrl keys click on cmd!) then type chkdsk /f /r, if ask to restart do it then after is finished check integrity of files on DOTA 2 and if it's OK and game still crashes then it's GPU issue.

My hard drive is the letter E, and it says invalid parameter when I type chkdsk/e/r

Yeah, I don't have any of those games. I decided to just run the 3dmark stress test run a few times, and unigine on a loop for 30 minutes. If nothing comes up, I guess that graphical glitch was due to either the hdd or the game (since it was a custom game mode)
