Not a great PSU. Pretty old now and the review I read on it when it was released back in 2010 said that the internal design was already an old out of date design. It didn't test very well at all either.

The rest is pretty top notch so you might want to consider purchasing a higher quality PSU as to not have any issues with rest of the high end gear.

This question needs to be asked BEFORE buying.

Honestly, i5 3570K + GTX 670 + 8GB RAM would offer near-identical performance in games, but would have cost 250$ less. You could have added a 256GB SSD for that money. Or a second GTX 670 for extra 150$. Also, PSU isn't very good, especially if it's an older Seventeam-made version. Newer Enhance version is ok. But just ok. Also, while your new motherboard supports SLI, you won't be able to add a second GTX 680, because PSU won't handle it properly. Well, it might, but that's not recommended.

some people buy stuff without even knowing how to use them to their full potential. i wasnt sure about overclocking since he didnt mention any aftermarket cooler, and surely he wont OC on the stock one :shadedshu

Now this happens a lot with Intel K CPUs. In my local forum many people ask me to assemble PCs with 2500K/3570K/3770K, but when I ask if they're going to overclock, they say they don't know what that means . Then I need to convince them that they don't need a K model and should buy non-K instead. But they still insist on buying unlocked model.

exactly. anyone who has ad experience assembling PCs for the masses knows this LOL.
only a couple of days ago this dude who is the son of a farmer (google indian farmer ) wanted me to assemble him a rig for 800$
he have never owned a PC before and doesnt even speak proper english! i was like, dude, you dont need to spend that much money! and then he went to some local dude who literally stole 160$ from him and gave him a crap combination. and he is telling everyone that i cant assemble high end PCs. lulz.

Overclock, this is why i have a non K variant of i7-3770 and i like it very much coz i do not over clock.

I Initially had i5-2500K the reason i had it was coz of the Intel HD 3000 that's why i had it rather than the non K i5-2500

Now i have i7-3770 and its coz of the HD 4000 dint see the point of buy the i7-3770K while i could get what i wanted on the non K.

And Yes i use the IGP from time to time especially like now i don't have a discrete graphics card, and ill probably get the GFX Card at the end of the month or first week next month a EVGA GTX670 FTW. Times like this the IGP helps me very much and i can do without over clocking.

you dont bring a k processor why you not have interest in overclock ok good but now ,why you need a graphic card like the gtx 670 if you dont like to overclock and bring a card made for gaming? have good performance in gaming means oc the cpu for much better performance ,im only curious xd

first dont go over 800 watt is overkill too much power for dont use it not worth nothing if you dont have to make sli or crossfire , bring a 750 watt or 650 or 620 is good ,i dont have enough experience in the psu but mine is good i have a thermaltake xt toughpower 775watt modular 80+ bronze xd

Still not a great PSU from the reviews I could find. The 475W model of the same series did not fare very well. That is another "budget" PSU. You get what you pay for with PSU's in most cases. You spend a bit more on a decent one you get a decent reliable PSU.

He already has the GX 650 and it's not a very good PSU at all. When [H] reviewed it died before the end of testing. Why I recommended from the very beginning to consider a better one. The other ones you listed are decent units.

I run a Thermaltake as well an "old" Toughpower 1200W just as rock solid as the day I bought it.

[H] killed the old Seventeam version (RS-650-ACAA-E3). Newer Enhance version (RS-650-ACAA-D3) is better. But still not good enough to be used in a high-end computer like that.
