i started my pc and the option to start recovery and the option to boot from cd showed up, but then when i restarted it so i could go into recovery the option isnt there, not even the option to boot from cd. normally when i start my pc i see the gateway logo, then the option to start recovery or boot from cd, then the option to load win xp or win7, but now it skips the second part and goes from the gateway logo straight to win xp or win 7. wdf? i need to recover xp cuz when i start xp the whole screen is at the top of my monitor... i can see a little green strip of my background on the very top of the monitor and i can see the mouse moving at the top but thats it so i have to use the recover option when i start the pc

Stop bumping your threads and have some patience. Once per 24 hours. That aside make sure to set the bios to boot from the CD first.

Yeeesh ... you guys are tough. How do you know he knows how to get into the BIOS?

@Stayplation. To get into the BIOS press either the DEL key, F2 or F12 when booting (differenct computer manufactures use different keys to get the the BIOS or setup menu).

You can also access the boot menu by pressing F8 while booting. This will allows you to boot from the CD without having to change anything in the BIOS.
