Hey Guys
I finally got Vista Ultimate 64-bit Installed ..... Guess what it was ???
My RAM .... kudos to those who suggested it .... BUT ..... I ran memtest86+ v1.7 and I got a 100% pass with no errors so I thought it might have been my 1&2 DIMMs so I put my ram into DIMMs 3&4 but still no luck .....
So I went and borrowed my mates 2x 1GB Geil ram and tried the same method but still no luck and my chances of running Vista were looking pretty slim, and then I thought what running all 4GB ram (mine in dual channel - and his Geil in the other dual channel) and BLAMMO !!! it went through the install with ease and runs like a dream.
The only strange thing is my bios and properties in windows says its only 3.25GB .... WTF
Do you think Id be safe if I gave my mates ram back and got myself 2x 512mb sticks so I still have 2 Dual channels but only with 3GB instead of 4GB.
