Of course, i play at 1024*768 resolution to get a constant 30 40fps at very high settings on Vista. its still good eh? this is good since i dont play to upgrade anytime soon. so atleast i will be able to play demanding games like Crysis at very high settings on 1024*768 res with fluid frame rate in the future. I can play at 1280*1024 resolution and i get 25 fps but then again the frame rate isnt constant. it goes below 20fps sometimes. so at 1024*768 the frame rate never goes below 25fps :).

Resolution is underestimated. Resolution has a big impact on most games and you lose a lot of frame rates. So why should we play at high resolution anyway since we lose valuable frame rates????
I found that playing games at 1024*768 res gives you the maximum frame rate, while keeping the settings on high. Thats a good balance between quality and performance. So lets adopt ourselves to playing at 1024*768 res.

I am not like those people who has an itch to change his graphics card with every release. I value my money and once i purchased something I tend to keep it for as long as I can.

Are you asking a question or something?

I'm a little lost as to what this threads about.

And if this is just about crysis, it should have been put in the Games forum.

have you seen the difference in picture quality between say 1024x768 and 1680x1050? IMO there is no point having textures and stuff on Very high then running on 1024x768 cus you are running at too lower rez to actually see the high quality textures. A much better ratio is to have a higher rez and lower quality textures. You could get the same frame rates but better picture quality.

What does him having a gtx 260 have anything to do with it.

I own a 4850 but as only a recent upgrade. My older system never played games at anything near full settings....but higher rez always looked better than better IQ.

I'D say what alex said too and i dont own a GTX260

Theres a reason why I bought a 22'' wide screen monitor and I will never play any game below 1680x1050
I love playing PC games and enjoying all its EYE CANDY
